Mirror Dragon Tarot Free Weekly Reading #21

Reading for 5-4 thru 5-10-20

This week we’ve got fire. Three Wands to spark our curiosity, creativity and our passion. After the three heavy majors last week it’ll be nice to have a fire lit under the detritus of any chains we were able to untangle, rip apart, slash, unlock and generally remove. After coming face to face with last week’s Devil and our own duplicity there are likely a few old habits and recriminations to toss in the fire pit and send back out to the ethers to dissipate.

The Center card this week is the 2 of Wands.

The twos of the Tarot take the Oneness, the singularity, of the Aces and split the energy in order to have the experience of that energy. Our human minds require separation to recognize the myriad aspects of what we encounter. In the aces there is only the Whole. The energy, in this case fire, simply Is. With no separation there is no understanding or recognition. In order for energy to regard itself it must split the whole into two with one as a mirror for the other and from there divide and divide and divide again adding dimension and form. This week we take astep back and regard our own dynamic, creative, and intense fire. What’s left when we burn away the excess used up thought patterns and impurities? When iron is heated and forged at high temperatures the corruptive bits are burned away and the steel left over is stronger, more flexible and generally more useful. What are we in ourselves when the dross of self-defeating ideas is burned away? This is a good week to look closely at the fire within and find the purity of Self in those flames.

The West Card is the 10 of Wands

The tens of the Tarot depict the energy of their suit in its most intricate, complicated and varied form. The tens can be tough and they can be powerfully sustaining. With the 10 of Wands in this position for the week, I feel that it refers to the scrambles and tangles we’ve seen in our situations recently. The lives of a great many people the world over have been shifted off a familiar axis and everyone’s been struggling with how to proceed on this new and unfamiliar course. In the fire of this ten I see dynamic energy in fight-or-flight mode with folks going in all sorts of directions looking for a new base line, new normal, new comfort zone. As frightening and stressful as that is, it’s also a great opportunity to grow and learn just how passionate, powerful and creative we can be in and of ourselves. What if the new normal just happens to contain some things we've always wanted but never had the chance to pursue? What a great chance to shake off the useless, unnecessary or detrimental aspects in our lives and take on new challenges.

The East card is the Knight of Wands.

If anybody’s ready for dynamic action it’s this guy. The Knights are masterful. They’ve seen it all, done it all, got the tee shirt, don’t even wear it anymore. They know how to move forward and are true masters in how to guide the rest of the group through the stumbles and pitfalls, the hot coals under the ashes and the shaky structure to find the best possible outcome. They’ve been there, they know what’s possible and what’s needed. This is the aspect of ourselves we step into towards week’s end. The harder the path we’ve followed, the more sturdy and annealed we become. We can find our own mastery within the smoke and follow it to the clear air beyond when we trust the wise and powerful Knight that we are inside.

In conclusion;

This week we are fire walkers. We overcome fear and trepidation in the face of new realities and take those steps into the smokey and fiery unknown. The good news is; we’re ready. We’ve spent time untangling and burning away the useless dross of insecurity and confusion to light the way forward with the torch of our passion and creativity.
