Mirror Dragon Tarot Free weekly reading #19
Reading for 4-20 thru 4-26-20

The energy for the week is focused on how we deal with emotions; sympathy, empathy, shielding, mask wearing, all the triggers and all the “feels”, all the responses we go through as a result. In these past few weeks we’ve been tied together and apart through no choice of our own and, as a result, we’ve had the unique opportunity to uncover emotional tangles, snarls, desires and curiosities. Until recently most of us have been able to sweep uncomfortable or confusing feelings under the rug “to be dealt with later”. ……...And now? It's Later. Until we’re knocked out of our routine we can become complacent with the feelings we don’t want to acknowledge so being obliged to spend way more time with, or without, the people we have those feelings for has brought them bubbling, screaming, wafting and giggling up to the surface. Without the usual escape routes; work, shopping, school, sports, restaurant and pub visits, meeting friends for ...well anything, we come face to face with those feelings. It can be a scary time, an enlightening time, a creative and fun time or a time used to resurrect and explore good or bad times passed. Whatever this enforced closeness or absence sparks in us, here’s the chance to find the truth at the center of the tangles and the feels.
The Center card this week is the 4 of Cups.
This card shows that the emotions we feel this week will be truly felt. The water of emotion flows from within out in all directions and is balanced equally and at full volume in every one of them. What we feel this week we will feel deeply. The hard part is that, especially now, we discover just how deeply those feelings run. If there is animosity it will find its way into conversations and interactions even if we try and stop or conceal it. On the other hand, if there is love, curiosity, compassion those will also seep out into our dealings with those around us. If it’s possible, try to stay with those feelings, all of them. The more we know and accept about our emotions, the better we can embrace our true nature.
The West card is the Ace of Cups.
The aces of each suit in the Minor Arcana represent their element in its purest form. The Cups, water, signify the flow of emotion and connection, the way our deepest inner self feels about everything. It is from this depth that we experience the connection we all have to Oneness/Universe. From this perspective we see our own being within the flow of the Universal energy that unites us. This week we have the chance to embrace our connection to One/Universe/Spirit/God and discover how we feel. Not just what it feels like, but the vehicle by which we feel it. If we can find a quiet time to settle, relax and contemplate the emotions we’re experiencing, plus the ways we express (or don't express) them to the folks we choose to have in our lives, we can find the truth at the center. This week we’re feeling it, whatever mask or veil or smile or cape we’ve been using to cover true feelings is slipping and we have the chance to find the truth that lives inside us. This really isn’t about how we think others feel about us but who we are inside. Because emotions run deep this week, carving out quiet time to sort out our own emotions is important. If it isn’t possible to go out into nature I find one good way to make quiet time is to take a bath. Showers work too as long as the body can relax. Most of us can spend a good amount of time in the bath or shower without being disturbed, so if we need to cry or laugh or sigh or growl we don’t have to face the quizzical looks on people nearby. If none of those options is available to you, maybe that’s one of the issues that needs reworking.
The East card is the Wheel of Fortune.
As we dig out the peaceful, damaged, expanding, clearing, mending center of who we are, we can see how adaptable that center is. The wheel keeps turning as we ride it. It’s up to us to choose how to deal with whatever comes up. We can be pulled under by misfortune and we can be risen up by the discovery of our own strength and wisdom. The magic is in the decision. Do we accept and adjust to find a rhythm that allows us to move in harmony with the cosmos (and each other) or do we fight the movement and grind against the wheels of change. The important thing to remember is that the choice is ours to make. We need not be ground down by outside forces.
In conclusion;
We’re likely to be feeling things acutely for a bit. The feelings will be heady and maybe rough, but with a chance to plumb the depths of where the feelings were born we can see them for what they are. By shrouding what we feel we lose perspective. If we see a spider in the corner and toss a dish towel over it to cover it up, it disappears. For a moment. Then if we pass by and toss another towel into the corner (just to be sure, it was a BIG spider) and then each time we’re reminded of the spider we drop on another towel in the corner we end up with a rather large pile of towels. Time passes and the spider is long gone but the pile of towels has taken on its own significance. This week it’s possible for us to begin to remove the dish towels and when we get to the bottom realize the spider has been gone for a long time and the pile has covered and then become what we were dreading. Remember, the wheel is still turning and this too shall pass or grow or evolve. Who knows? Maybe that spider we were hiding from is the same one who’s been building the incredible webs catching raindrops and flashing sunlight around in vibrant colors.
Have an expressive week!
Light, Tory
TIP for the week: Happiness is the settling of the soul into its most appropriate spot.
