Longest Rest Period for Most Tiring Sets in 9-10 reps

This way, you can determine or assess the rest periods by how long your partner takes to do their set. Here is how it goes. You rest while he does his set and vice versa. It would take your partner longer to do a set of 10 reps than 1 or 2. So, when you are working out with a partner, it builds appropriate rests into your workout automatically.

If you are doing it on your own, do not rush to the next set. Or you won’t be able to complete the ladder. Solo lifters should match the number of deep breaths they take with the number of reps they just performed. For instance, you are going to take three slow, deep breaths before the next set, and 10 deep slow breaths after a set of 10 reps. But if you feel that you need more rest to get the number of reps you need in the next set, go for it. The higher the reps or heavier the weights, the more rest you will require.

The Most Fatiguing Set after the Least Fatiguing One

The least fatiguing set is the one with the lowest number of reps. After you have done a set of 10 on ascending/waving ladder, you are gonna have to start over at 1 rep.

Precision of Sets

See that you do every rep with perfect form. For this, you must pick ladders that have conservative rep ranges you are sure of that you can properly perform. If the max you can do on pull-ups is 10 reps, then your ladder should go as high as 7-8 reps.
