From 150lbs to 115lbs

How, Why, and What I Learned

You need this to start with:

1. You have to actually care. Caring is the hardest step when it comes to weight-loss, really.

What I noticed for myself is that, for a long time I knew I was getting fat, and that I needed to do something about it before it's out of control. The thing was, I still looked good in clothes, I hid my weight, I have a pretty face. So it really was distorting my self image, because it made me think, "oh I'm still good, it does not matter if I lose weight or not," and I saw my boyfriend being the same way after I lost my weight. When I met him, he was success story of a man, who transformed himself and his life. He had just lost 200 pounds and was justing killing it in the weight room. He looked like a model, so cut and tone with big muscles and flat abs. BUT TODAY, he is back to being 200 lbs, and still has not really made the effort to get his better image back. And it was because, he still looked good in the mirror fully clothed. And he did, but thats not the point.

You have to actually come to a point where start to truly care, you know it's time.

2. Will Power

People take the fact that you can have a little something off the diet plan here and there, and that is true... BUT not for someone who is just starting out on their journey, because all that is going to is prevent you from making better habits. I am not saying go cold turkey, you should be rewarding yourself every now and then, but I think people distort the meaning of that and abuse it. All the little cheats add up and you'll be surprised at the results.

3. Be self-aware.

You can try every diet there is on the market or word of mouth, but the only diet that is going to work, is the one your body responds to. Start with one you think you will like, and then adjust it a little until you find what your body actually needs.

I am gluten-free and Keto. The only reason I went Keto is because I am allergic to gluten, so it just made life easier. I picked my favorite veggies and I put rice, beans, corn, and fruit back into my diet, but I am still mostly Keto because that works for me. Actually when I put carbs back into my diet, I felt my metabolism was burning faster.

I also drink a lot of herbal teas and take green tea pills. This helped to curb my hunger and I had a lot more energy.

4. Don't be intimidated.

I hate going to the gym, even now after losing all my weight. I hate being there alone. I work out in my loft with some free weights, an ab machine, and push up machine. I have yoga and P90X. When I do go to the gym, I usually ride a bike. But if it is a really good song, I'll hop off and start running to the music.

Do not be afraid to do anything that will help you reach your goals. No matter what. You being at the gym or you running at the park is something a lot of people can't say that are doing at that moment. So, you got this. Lets go!

My boyfriend has an unhealthy relationship with food. While he was making his major transformation, he was so strict that he never learned to balance. That's why he gained all the weight back. So now as a reinforcement, he orderers clean meals every week, that are sent to his home. Your diet is whats is most responsible for weight-loss

When I hit my growth spurt in middle school, me getting taller helped distribute my "chubbiness," and I was looking for high school. Freshman and Sophomore year I was apart of a competitive dance team and the drill team. Besides the cardio from dancing, we worked out together as a team. It was ballet core exercises like crunches on the floor, keeping our arms up for very long periods of time, and that was pretty much it.

When I got injured and could not dance anymore, I put on a little here and a little there. At that time is was not a big deal. I was 5"3' and 115 to 120 pounds, and it stayed that way until 2016. Slowly I worked my way up to 150 pounds, and it didn't take me until I saw stumbled on a photo of me in ballet where I had realize what I did.

I tried working out here and there, watching what I ate but, I mean, not really... If you don't fully care about losing weight, it's just not going to happen, and then the idea of the stuff you have to do is just going to be more and more overwhelming. I was with my dance team for two years, I never had to lose weight or had to go to the gym, and I didn't know what to do or how to do anything. I was always on a team.

So here is how I lost 35 pounds in five months.

If you can handle it, Keto was a life saver. I say "if you can handle it" because Keto dieting is not healthy. You have to take supplements and vitamins and be on top of your blood sugar.

Breakfast: three eggs, two turkey bacon, and a cup of almond milk

Lunch: protein bar and tea

Snack: oranges or strawberries

Dinner: chicken, fish, zucchini, cucumber, carrots, onion, tomato, herbs, cheese, plain greek yogurt and rice. I can not begin to tell you how many dishes I have made just using the same ingredients and cooking them differently.
