The King of Wands and The Fool

I’m all in now on learning to read tarot cards. In learning to read tarot cards one suggestion jumps out from just about every source I’ve read. “Make a journal of your readings.” So I decided that it would be more fun to publish my journal than to keep it private. I also have a private journal as well. But this one is all about sharing my readings and my journey with you. So, each day I pull two cards from my Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck and I write about what the cards tell me.
Today’s cards are the King of Wands and the Fool.

The king is seated on a throne he sits in profile to us holding a flowering wand in his right hand. His throne sits on a stone of some kind. He wears a simple crown and a long red robe. His cape is open to reveal his robe and a hand that seems to be in action. His throne contains emblems of lions. He appears strong and trustworthy. An honest man.
The suit of wands are about action and is linked with creativity, drive, and energy. The throne is a symbol of authority, wealth, and power. And the fact that this throne sits on a stone slab suggests that it has a solid base and a good foundation. The colors are bright and cheerful. Red is the color for passion and yellow is the color of optimism. So there is a lot of energy in this card. Good energy. This card can represent a person or it could also be a situation or a project. The card can indicate good fortune as well.
In this card, I see a creative project with a good purpose and good intent. It’s something that’s been worked on for a while and continues to bloom and grow. Good things will come from this project. There is due diligence that has been done and lots of research has brought the project where it is today. It’s not over. It’s going well. And the work continues.
Our second card, The Fool, shows a young man standing on the edge of a precipice ready to take the next step. He carries a flower in his left hand and a rod with a satchel at the end of it. He carries with him all he needs to begin a journey or take the next step. There is a small white dog with him as well. It’s a bright sunny day and the pair seem ready to go somewhere or do something.
The Fool speaks to us about new beginnings and journeys. The first step being taken. A leap of faith. That leap could either be seen as one of naiveté or bravery. There is a sense of just going for it and not really caring too much about the consequences or maybe it’s confidence in knowing that things will be alright so just go for it.
The two cards together are telling us about a project being worked on is well on it’s way. There’s nothing shady or deceptive about it. It’s a good project. Good intent and motivations behind it. And the fool card tells me that you gotta just trust your gut and go for it. It doesn’t alter what anyone thinks or says. Just go for it and the success you seek will be there.
