Breast Augmentation with Fat Transfer

Breast Augmentation with Fat Transfer

By Al Shunnar Plastic SurgeryPublished 4 years ago 3 min read

Breast Augmentation with fat transfer also known as autologous breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure that creates natural-looking enhancements to breast tissue. This procedure can create natural results without the use of saline implants or silicone gel implants but rather the patient's own fat tissue.

It involves harvesting fat tissues via liposuction from other body areas (donor sites) such as the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, or flanks, then purifying the fats obtained from donor site, and injecting it into the breasts to add volume to them. This results in a subtle increase in breast size and improved breast shape plus the breasts feel soft and natural as compared to the alternative of breast augmentation with implants.

Good Candidate for Breast Augmentation with Fat Transfer

You can be the ideal candidate for breast augmentation with fat transfer if:

  • The breasts should be fully developed
  • You have enough excess fat to harvest from the donor sites
  • You understand that the breast increase will be subtle, about one cup size
  • Realistic expectations regarding the expected results
  • You are in good health both physically and psychologically
  • You have good skin elasticity
  • You are committed to a healthy lifestyle

The Procedure

Breast augmentation with fat transferrin Dubai is for women who desire to subtly increase their breasts volume with reshaping and resizing the breasts while still maintaining a natural look but do not want to have foreign objects in their bodies.

After consulting with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is specialized in breast surgery procedures you will be asked to do the following in preparation for your breast surgery procedure:

  • Avoid smoking four weeks before and after the procedure
  • Do not take blood-thinning medications two weeks before the procedure
  • Stop taking alcohol two days prior
  • Do not take caffeine after midnight on the day of the surgery

During the treatment, liposuction will be performed to harvest excess fat from the donor sites. The harvested fat is purified and optimized for injection. Your Plastic Surgeon will inject the fat precisely into specific locations in each breast to achieve optimal fullness, symmetry, and aesthetic contour.

Recovery and Results

After the breast augmentation with the fat transfer procedure, you will experience swelling, bruising, and pain at donor site. The level of discomfort will depend on the extent of liposuction. The complete initial recovery is about 1-3 days but the final recovery will take about 6 weeks. Light exercise will be okay after about a week. You will wear a compression garment on the donor sites to minimize the swelling

It will take time for the newly injected living fat cells in your breasts to integrate with the existing breast tissue. Because of this, it is important to avoid pressure on the breasts for at least two weeks. Avoid wearing a normal bra, sleeping on your stomach, or doing anything that puts pressure on your chest area.

There are a few factors to be aware of when considering the results of breast augmentation with fat transfer and they are:

  • Some of the injected fat will be reabsorbed and this can slightly affect the size
  • Gaining or losing weight can change your body shape and this includes the breasts
  • As your weight fluctuates, the fat cells can increase or decrease in size thus affecting the results of the procedure
