Balanced Metabolism

and all the health benefits it brings

By Mr. Health-ePublished 3 years ago 3 min read
NO toxic diets. NO exhausting workouts. NO chemistry. Just YOU.

From personal experience, a sustainable diet and easy physical activities are essential for achieving a balanced metabolism and significantly improving one’s quality of life.

Creating a sustainable diet is at the core of maintaining a balanced metabolism and healthy body. Finding a sustainable diet is not easy, however, its absence is one of the main obstructions to achieving optimal nutrition. Forget the spontaneous food recommendations “know-it-alls” bombard you with. There is an overwhelming amount of situations in which many “healthy” foods are toxic and may harm you. Knowing how to adjust any diet to your personal needs is the first thing you need to learn or otherwise it is highly unlikely for you to maintain optimal weight and achieve a work-life balance, among many other health benefits you are potentially missing out on. The only way to guarantee healthy and sustainable results is adopting a personalized diverse diet based on your body’s nutritional needs and state of health, rather than just pleasing your taste receptors. Processing food in a way to preserve the many beneficial compounds it contains in its raw form is another critical part of the equation.

You may believe to be receiving optimal nutrition by automatically following conventional tips from health “experts”, however much of their advice is often far from what your body actually needs and is able to digest.

Is working out at a gym an absolute necessity for being "healthy"? Short answer: no. Long answer: visiting a gym facility is not a prerequisite for maintaining optimal nutrition and a balanced metabolism. Gyms are only necessary for those looking to build a career as professional athletes, instructors and/or bodybuilders. For the larger part of the population who simply wish to improve/maintain their overall health, visiting such an establishment will not make any valuable contribution towards achieving that goal and is purely a matter of personal choice. Combining a diverse diet, simple physical activity and consistency will get that job done in a much safer and sustainable way. Exercising should moderately tire you out and leave you feeling satisfied, rather than sore and grumpy as if doing a daily chore or manual labor. On the other hand, adhering to a diverse and sustainable diet assures the effectiveness of persistently engaging in easy physical activities. If an individual’s calorie-exchange mechanism is functioning well and they have accurately “guesstimated” their daily calorie balance, one should expect positive health results in just a few weeks. Cautiously experiment with how much you exercise and do not be misled by others – consistency triumphs over intensity. In some cases, it may take a bit longer to get visible results - always remember to exercise smart, rather than hard.

Force whatever definition of the term “perfect weight” out of your head as it could be far from what is actually good for your body type. Use a measuring tape, noting down your waist circumference and compare it to reference healthy values. Also, work with an accurate scale and a BMI calculator from an official source (e.g. CDC, WHO, etc.) to monitor your weight progress. Aim for a balanced weight that corresponds to a healthy BMI value for your particular constitution and keep track of your belly fat.

We all love technology, but is it really helping us when it comes to health and fitness? For example, monitoring one’s heart rate at any given time during a workout session does not necessarily lead to better results. In fact, you are spending more time looking at a screen, rather than focusing on your breathing and technique. Wasting precious time in keeping track of imaginary calories after exercising instead of devoting it to meaningful actions, such as obtaining a personalized diverse diet and selecting simple physical activities that are appropriate for your specific condition, is also counterproductive. Moreover, performing intensive workouts and/or using artificial performance “boosters” places too much stress on your metabolism and may result in permanent damages or even in a fatality.

Unfortunately, there is too much regurgitated information on these and many other essential points one needs to be aware of before deciding on a definite course to win back their health. Luckily, you have your brain and you also have me. These are the two things you need... Well, you need persistance too, but your brain provides that... You get the point.

Anyhow, once you create and uphold a healthy routine that corresponds to your needs and state of health, managing certain medical conditions (e.g. diabetes, arthritis, gout, IBS, body sensitivities, etc.) and arriving at a balanced weight (be it losing or gaining "x" kilograms) comes naturally .
