The whole world has recently gone agog with fat loss, fit fam and all the other things that come with achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. While this is good news to all that desire it, losing fat is as simple as it is difficult. This is because there are tons of dos and don’ts around the subject.

In this article, you’ll be shocked to discover just how many things you did not know about weight loss. You will also marvel at some of the fake truths that we’ve believed for so long. If you are sure you really want to shed some fat, then, this post is for you. happy reading!

1. To Lose Weight, You Need to Sleep

I’m not sure any statement could sound more hysterical than this already does. But, it’s the absolute truth. You actually need to shut your eyes and get some beauty sleep in order to really shed some fat. You’re definitely wondering why this is necessary. Well, here’s why. When you sleep, the different parts of your body get optimized and rejuvenated. Also, most of the processes that the body needs to undergo for fat loss take place when you’re asleep. So, you see, when you get enough sleep, you give your body the time it needs to get those extra inches off you. The next time you decide to stay up all night, consider sleeping a healing exercise. Rather than stay up and be forced to binge on unhealthy meals, why not sleep it off? Your body will thank you!

2. Get Rid of the Weight Loss Pills

Again, take it from me, you do not need weight loss pills to shed fat. I wonder how we came up with this in the first place. The side effects that these pills have on your body pose far-reaching consequences than weight gain could ever have. Common fam, would you choose dizziness, restlessness, heart disease, and pulmonary hypertension over having a few extra pounds here and there? I understand that the idea of taking some drug capable of making all your worries go away sounds completely fantastic, but in the months and years that follow, your body would say otherwise. There are plenty of healthy means to lose fat, but this isn’t one of them. In addition, because these pills promise you the world, you see almost no reason to work on your nutrition and diet, which is actually where true results lie. In the long run, even if you’re able to avoid al the nasty side effects that come with taking weight loss pills, you’ll be back to square one in no time.

3. It’s Time to Drink More Water

Fam, if you’re really serious about dropping some pounds, you’ve got to let go of all the fizzy drinks. When you see soda, run! When you see alcohol, close your eyes. Lol! Let’s put the drama aside and be serious here. for every time you consume soda, alcohol, and Starbucks drinks, you fill your body with empty calories. These calories do your body no good and occupy space, for nothing. Rather than fill your body with these, consume food that provides healthy calories instead. And drink water!

4. Your Genes Matter

If anyone ever told you that your genes have no role to play in your weight gain or weight loss journey, they lied to you. Genes are a very important part of us that often determine why we look the way we do. There are three body types: endomorph, mesomorph, and ectomorph. Depending on what body type yours is, your weight loss journey will be relatively different from another’s. Understand your body type, and address your journey accordingly!

5. Your Metabolism Can Be Worked On

Who knew that!? I feel like this is the greatest discovery of the year. You know how we see certain people as really slim and learn that they have a fast metabolism and that those on the big side have a slow metabolism? Well, you can fix your metabolism. In order to shed more fat, all you have to do is complete at least three weight sessions per week, and watch your metabolism get ignited!
