Where to find Free SVG files
For your artistic edge, cricut, or other needs

You’ve finally done it; you’ve given into the craze and bought yourself a cricut (or any other brand, such as the Janome artistic edge). Don’t worry- I can promise it’s just as addicting as it looks, and certainly not as hard as it looks!
I know when I first started out, one of the first things I wanted to know was where to find all of those SVG files I needed to create my projects.

In case you didn’t know, an SVG (scalable vector file) is the format you need your image to be in, to put it simply. There are a lot out there to find; a quick search on Pinterest will reveal thousands. But as I’m sure you are, I wanted to find the free ones.
Here are a few of the sites I found to have some great free ones.
HelloSvg

Hello SVG was the first site I stumbled across, and it is one of the better ones. It’s very simple to navigate, and features a number of different categories such as Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, camping, hunting, beer, wine... the possibilities are endless!
Note: it will prompt you to make an account and will ask you to “add to cart”; don’t worry though, it’s all still free! You’ll just need to make an account to be able to download the files.
Love SVG
Love svg is another great site to find some files. On this site is both free and those that cost money, so you’ll have to be on the lookout for those! But it’s easy enough to find the free ones; on the homepage it shows you all the free ones.
This site has a variety of categories as well, such as all holidays (Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Veterans Day included), kitchen, bathroom, pets, camping and babies. There are pages and pages you’re able to search the site for what it is you’re looking for.

Font Space

Besides designs, another fun thing you can do is change up fonts for your own custom designs. Font Space is one such space. This site has free fonts available to download, and it's very easy to maneuver. Note: remember, once you download the font, it must be installed on your computer before you can use it on your program.
To install your font: unzip the file and click into it once unzipped. Click on the "true type font file" (you'll be able to see this under file type). Once you click that, a window will open, you simply hit install and you're finished!
You can also do it alternatively, unzip your file and go to settings > control panel > appearance and personalization > fonts. Once your font window opens, simply click on your unzipped file and drag and drop it into your font window. You're done!
As a note: it is much easier to use the first option; it's much quicker! And also, once you install fonts, you will be use these fonts on any program installed on your computer! So that means you could use these new, unique fonts in Microsoft office programs if you desire!

Maybe you can't find what you're looking for on these sites. Maybe you have an image in mind you'd like to use; I have a solution for that! In order to use the file of your desire, it will need to be converted to an SVG file. Here are some sites that allow you to do this:
Hopefully this is able to help you find some SVG files! Good luck and happy crafting!
