WhatsApp is introducing a much-loved feature for editing sent messages

On Android, you can access this menu by pressing the kebab icon ("three dots") in the upper right corner of the chat window. On iOS, the menu appears when the user long-presses a message.

To prevent possible abuse of the feature, WhatsApp has limited the editing time of sent messages to 15 minutes. After this time, the message becomes permanent and cannot be changed. Additionally, for transparency, edited messages will be marked with an “edited” label next to the updated timestamp. However, it is important to note that there is no edit history available, which means that recipients will not be able to see edited messages in their original form.
