What I Realized After Relying on Coffee for Years and How I Got My Energy Back
How one small change to my coffee routine brought lasting energy and clarity to my day.

I’ve been drinking coffee for as long as I can remember college all-nighters, early work meetings, those groggy Monday mornings. Coffee was my go-to. The comfort of the warm cup, the smell, the little jolt of energy it felt like a lifeline.
But somewhere along the way, things started to change. The boost didn’t feel as strong. I was needing a second, sometimes even a third cup to stay alert. And yet, by early afternoon, the crash would hit hard. I felt like I was constantly chasing energy I never quite caught.
One day I sat at my desk, cup in hand, staring blankly at my screen. It was only 10 a.m., and I was already exhausted. That was the moment it clicked: my coffee wasn’t working anymore.
That realization hit harder than I expected. Something I had trusted for years just... stopped doing its job. And I realized I needed to change something fast.
I didn’t want to give up coffee entirely, it’s still a part of my routine I enjoy. But I started researching ways to make it more effective, more sustainable.
That’s when I stumbled on the idea of adding a small, natural supplement to my coffee. It sounded simple. Just stir it in and go. No complicated diet changes, no weird drinks. Just coffee, with a little upgrade.
I figured I had nothing to lose.
Within a few days, I noticed a difference. My mornings felt smoother. My energy lasted longer into the afternoon. The brain fog that usually crept in by lunchtime was gone. And surprisingly, I didn’t feel the need for that second cup anymore.
It wasn’t some massive transformation, I didn’t suddenly become a superhero. But I felt better. More stable. More present. And that was enough for me.
I know I’m not the only one who relies on coffee just to survive the day. If you’ve felt like your energy is on a rollercoaster, or like your coffee isn’t cutting it anymore, I’ve been there.
What worked for me might not work for everyone. But if you’re curious, I left a little note in my bio with what I added to my coffee each morning.
It’s nothing fancy, just a small change that made a big difference in how I feel. If you want to know more, you’ll find the link in my bio.
I still love my coffee, but now it actually works with me instead of against me.
I’m glad I tried something new. Sometimes, it’s the smallest tweaks that bring the biggest results.
Before making any changes, my morning routine was honestly a mess. I’d hit snooze three or four times, drag myself to the kitchen, and make a cup of coffee before I even opened my eyes all the way. I relied on that first sip like it was life or death. And for a little while, it worked.
But by mid-morning, I’d already be looking for snack food to push through, and by afternoon, my energy was gone. I chalked it up to stress, getting older, or not sleeping well, but deep down I knew I was burning myself out.
These days, my mornings feel lighter. I wake up without dread. I don’t rush to the coffee machine like it’s my only hope. Instead, I feel ready, like my body’s not fighting me anymore.
That doesn’t mean everything is perfect. Life still gets busy. But I feel more in control. And I really believe that the change started with this tiny shift in my coffee habit. That tiny shift gave me back control of my mornings.
