Introduction

Keywords are the most critical part of your content. They're what people search for when they're looking for specific information about your niche, and they are what make or break you getting found in the SERPs (search engine results pages).

You might think that keywords are super complicated, but in fact there's a relatively simple way to add them to your posts: use the keyword tool!

Use the keyword tool to generate a keyword list.

The first step in using the keyword tool to find long tail keywords is to generate a list of your own. Many people use Google Keyword Planner or another tool that can generate this for them, but if you're looking for something more specific and want to start with a clean slate, try using AdWords Keyword Planner instead.

This will give you results based on what people are searching when they enter their search terms into Google search engines like Google and Bing—not just general searches but also those related specifically within each site's niche market.

Once you have generated some ideas for keywords, it's time to evaluate them against the competition so we can see which ones make sense as potential additions into our blog content strategy!

Don't overthink it.

If you're new to blogging and haven't yet gotten used to keyword research, this can be overwhelming. You might feel like there are so many possible keywords to choose from, but in reality, it's not that hard.

The good news is that if you don't overthink your topic and just let the creative juices flow while brainstorming on what kind of content would fit best with each word, then the process will go much more smoothly than if you try too hard at it or spend too much time trying out different ideas before settling on something that works well for both SEO and your readership goals.

Don't use too many keywords.

You don't want to overdo it. Keywords are a great tool for helping users find your content, but they should not be used in excess.

You might think that using more keywords will help you rank better in search engines, but this is not always true.

Search engines use algorithms and other types of data to determine which websites are relevant and helpful for their users, so using too many keywords may actually hurt your site's chances at being found by potential customers who don't know what they're looking for yet!

Consider the context of your post.

Use your keywords in the title and throughout the post. Don't overdo it! You should aim for about three to five times more than what would be considered "normal" for a blog post—that is, if you have a few paragraphs that are relevant to your subject matter, then use an average number of characters (about 20-30) per sentence or paragraph.

But if you're writing an essay on why cats are awesome, don't worry about being too wordy; just make sure that every time you mention something related to felines (for example: "the cat personality"), there's at least one occurrence of those words within that context-specific sentence/paragraph.

Don't use keywords that are too long or too short; they should always fit within their respective category(s).

For example: If someone searches "university," then any articles about universities will probably contain some kind of keyword phrase related to this topic such as "university degree" or "college admission.

" However if someone searches "university professor," then these same articles may not include any mention whatsoever about college professors unless they happen upon one while browsing through Google search results first before clicking forward towards another article altogether

And even then only because there was something specific happening during this particular moment when this person was searching online instead of browsing randomly through webpages full stop like most people do every day

Check other posts in your niche to make sure that your keywords are unique and relevant.

Another way to make sure that your keywords are unique and relevant is by checking other posts in your niche. The easiest way to do this is by using a keyword tool like Ahrefs, SEMrush or Google Keyword Planner.

These tools will show you the average monthly searches for each keyword, along with a range of search volumes (the number of times someone has searched for that term).

For example: “top 10 SEO” would show up as 1000-5000 searches per month; “best keywords for SEO” would be between 200-1,000 searches per month and so on.

Keywords are easy to add when you don't overthink it.

Keywords are easy to add when you don't overthink it.

They're just one of the many factors that go into SEO. Keywords aren't the only thing you should be focusing on when writing your post, nor should they take up all of your time and attention during the process of creating content.

Conclusion

If you're looking for the best keywords to use for your blog, then start by using a keyword research tool such as SEMrush.

There are many other ways to find good ones, but this method is by far the simplest and most effective!
