The Most Underrated Wig Type I’ve Never Tried — Drawstring V Part Wig Review

The Wig That Blends Comfort, Speed, and Style Perfectly

If you asked me what the most surprising wig type has been for me in the past year, I would answer without hesitation: the drawstring v part wig. To be honest, I had almost never heard of this style before trying it. The popular wigs on the market are lace wigs, wear and go wigs, or headband wigs, but this one seemed to have gone unnoticed. After trying it, I truly felt it was a seriously underrated "treasure wig."

I initially bought it out of curiosity. That day, while browsing websites, I saw a "drawstring v part wig" with few reviews, but the comments were all very sincere. Some reviews said, "It combines the natural feel of a half-wig with the stability of a drawstring," and others said, "Wearing it feels just like wearing your own hair." I was moved by these comments, so I ordered a naturally curly style.

The day it arrived, I almost couldn't wait to open the package. The hair felt incredibly soft, with the light and smooth feel of real human hair, without any plastic feel. The wig cap has a drawstring design at the back, which initially worried me about its usability, but it turned out to be much simpler than I expected. Just place the wig in the right position, secure the clips, and gently pull the drawstring—it's firmly attached to your head.

The most amazing thing is its V-part structure. The wig has a V-shaped opening at the top, allowing a section of my own hair to show, resulting in a very natural transition. When light shines on my hair, there's no noticeable "wig reflection," making it look like my own hair has been styled beautifully. I checked myself in the mirror several times, even filming a video in natural light to confirm if it would be noticeable—but there was absolutely no trace of it.

The day I wore it out shopping, I was a little nervous, worried someone would notice. But all day long, not only did no one notice it was a wig, but strange girls even came up to ask where I got my hair done. At that moment, I couldn't help but laugh. This seemingly understated drawstring V-part wig actually gave me a salon-quality look with ease.

Later, I gradually discovered many more advantages. For example, it's incredibly breathable, keeping my scalp comfortable and not stuffy; it's also much lighter than a typical lace wig, so I can wear it all day without feeling any pressure on my head. What I love most is its adjustability—sometimes I want more volume, I tighten the drawstring; sometimes I want a looser, more natural look, I loosen it. It's so much more flexible than traditional half-wigs.

Of course, it's not without its drawbacks. For instance, it takes a little practice when you first start wearing it, adjusting the V-part part to the most natural angle; and if your hair is too short, blending it in might take a bit more time. But once you master the technique, it's almost the most convenient type of wig I've ever worn.

I now own three different styles of drawstring V-part wigs: one with natural curls, one with body waves, and one with a dark brown highlight. Each time I change wigs, it's like a completely new look. It's made me realize that "a wig isn't about covering up, but about expressing style."

I want to say, if you haven't tried this kind of wig yet, it's definitely worth giving it a try.

It requires no glue, no headband, and no complicated installation, yet it delivers a natural, secure, breathable, and lightweight experience. For me, it's definitely the "most underrated type of wig."

Sometimes life's little surprises come from things you didn't expect much from. And for me, the drawstring v part wig was that unexpected surprise.
