Pain as a Necessary Ingredient for Happiness
I enjoy reading this book “the subtle art of not giving a f**k” because I find that even though I don’t agree 100% with some of the things that Mark Manson said in that book i respect his opinion a little more than I disagree with them most times. Chapter two of that book had me thinking can anyone truly.. I mean really-truly and genuinely be happy without experiencing pain?. Let me tell you what I think.
The pursuit of happiness is a universal human desire. It is what drives us to strive for success, seek love and companionship, and engage in fulfilling activities. However, the concept of happiness is complex and multifaceted, and achieving it often requires overcoming obstacles and enduring pain. In fact, many argue that pain is a necessary ingredient for happiness.
At first glance, this idea may seem counterintuitive. After all, pain is often associated with negative emotions, such as sadness, anger, and despair. It can be physical or emotional, acute or chronic, and range in intensity from mild discomfort to excruciating agony.
