Six Questions That Will Make You Rethink Your Marketing Campaign
Don't Be Afraid to Ask Them!

Marketing is really important, if you want your business to succeed. It doesn't even matter if you have been in business for years, or you are just starting out. You are going to need to work on finding new customers, along with keeping your current ones, if you want your business to be successful.
That being said, marketing and your customers are constantly changing. To keep your marketing fresh, you need to ask yourself some questions about your marketing.
Here are six questions that you should start with.
Who are your customers?
In order to work, your marketing campaign needs to attract the attention of your customers. Because of this, you need to come up with a buyer persona. Not only that, but you need to cater your marketing effects toward this person!
So, before you do anything, take some extra time to think about who you customers really are. Are you trying to reach young couples? Are your products more for older Americans?
Not only that, you also need to ask yourself more questions to figure out who you are trying to reach. Are you looking for men or women? Teenagers or older Americans? What interests them? Do they like cats or dogs? Do they like to read in their spare time? On the other hand, what drives them nuts? What will push them away?
By taking the extra time to really know who you are trying to connect with, your advertising is more likely to bring the right customers in.

Who are the right prospects for your business?
If you are trying to attract businesses, instead of a singular person, you also need to think about the profile of your ideal customer.
To do this, you should know about the industry that you are trying to reach. Do you want to attract construction companies or maybe someone who caters? Marketing for each of these companies would be very different.
It is also important to figure out what department you need to talk to. Do you want to sell your products in their store? Who do you need to talk to in order to do that?
If you take the extra time to figure this out, you will go directly to the person that you need to, instead of going around in circles trying to get in touch with the right one.
How much of your marketing relies on cold calling?
According to Spotio, it used to take less than four attempts before you were able to talk to the right person. Today, it takes eight calls, though it may take a lot more attempts in order to get the sale.
This basically means that cold calling isn't as effective as it used to be. In fact, you should forget about cold calling. Instead, spend more time on warm calling. This means spending more time online. You want people to find you online, so you can focus on building relationships with customers before they need you.
Referrals are also important. Most decisions are made by recommendations.
What is your website actually doing for your business?

Most businesses think that, once the website is done, they don't have to worry about it anymore. However, that is a big mistake. Your customers will most likely check out your website before they decide to do business with you.
So, what does your website need to do? It needs to load quickly. It also needs to be easy to read and filled with information. You are going to want to catch the attention of those who are trying to do research, so you need to make sure that you update your website often, with high-quality content.
Are you placing enough focus on your marketing?
Too many businesses don't spend enough on marketing. You need to make it a priority so that your business continues to bring in new customers, while keeping the old ones too.
Can you be found?
The only way that your business can work is if you can be found. You need to be online, in multiple places. You need a website, blog, and even a few social media profiles. Not only that, but you may also want to consider email marketing. That works well for many businesses who don't want to spend hours online.
You should do as much as you can, because the more you put yourself out there, the easier it is to be found!
The takeaway?

The simple truth is that marketing is constantly changing, and you need to change with it. Doing the same thing over and over may not always work for you. You are going to ask yourself some hard questions to make sure that you are continuing to change with the times (and find as many customers as you can)!
