Pros and Cons of Hiring a Band for an Event
Hiring a Band for an Event

Music is one of the only things that connect everyone from all places, all over the world. The connection makes music a necessity for any event, whether it be a small backyard cookout or the age-old argument of whether or not to hire a DJ or live music for your wedding.
When it comes to live music, some pros and cons come along with choosing a band for your event. Considering all of these options and weighing them against each other will be vital in deciding whether to choose a live band or digital music.
A few things to consider when making this decision are your audience, purpose of your event, and the location.
Range of Songs
The main problem that people run into when hiring a band to perform at their event is the range of songs that the band can perform. For example, if your event has a lot of dancing, but there are specific scenarios where you want a change of pace, the band may not do everything you are asking.
A DJ, however, would be able to put on any song you want for any scenario, plus DJs can do different cool tricks with the songs that they have played, so the audience most likely won't get sick of hearing the same songs they hear on the radio all the time.
Quality of Band
Another big concern about hiring a band to perform at events is “What if the band has a bad performance night?” Even though it sounds terrible to say, it is an excellent concern to have. Many events have been ruined because the band did not live up to the audience's expectations.
On the other hand, some bands can exceed your expectations because they go the extra mile to make the audience part of the show. There is nothing like listening to a band play while feeling like you are up on stage with them. If you can find a band that plays and entertains, your event will certainly be one to remember.
If you want to go down the path of hiring live music, make sure you see the band you could be hiring. That way, you know whether or not it is how you want to go with your event.
Experience
The thing about live music is that there is no other experience like it. You and your friends are together right in the front of music being made, so it is a lot more interesting to see a live band than a DJ getting paid to click a song on his iPhone. But, there is a lot more that goes into having a band play.
Some people would say that it is worth the hassle to experience live music. After all, it is the universal language and it triggers conversations and emotions that a vanilla experience from a DJ can’t.
Putting together a big event can be stressful, especially deciding on music. Everyone loves to hear people play live music, but then again, hiring a DJ makes sure that you will have all the songs and all the different types of music you are looking for. The biggest thing to keep in mind when making this decision is your audience and what the event is all about.
If the event is something that does not require a wide range of songs, then you should be all set to find one of the several bands for hire in your area, but if it requires a wide variety of different types of music, then you might be better off going for the DJ.
