My Dream House Explained.

What Would The Domain of My Imagination Look Like?

We all have dream houses. Its a given that anyone of us has the perfect house in our minds. Ask any person about their dream house and instantly the details are explained. People will always start with the type of house they want. A farm house, an English manor, a castle, a palace...always something big, never small. Then, one hears about the fancy rooms inside their dream house. Usually something akin to a library, a bar, a game room...the list goes on. Finally, the location of their dream house is always somewhere exotic. Most choices are an island, the mountains, or a forest.

It seems everyone wants a big house, somewhere exotic, with a fancy room. We all desire a house that shows off power, wealth, or something unusual. These massive dream houses seem impressive. Yet, deep down, my imagination is starved for something else. Something different. I will make a confession. I, at one time, desired a massive big dream house much like my contemporaries. Yet, while I drowned my thoughts with a dream house of great size, I realized something was missing. It was missing humbleness.

Therefore, my dream house was no longer seen as a massive mansion. Rather, a small humble abode all to myself. As for location? I would want a quiet corner in a quiet forest. Sure, I would lose out on the fancy rooms one would want. Yet, who said I was giving up on having multiple rooms? I decided on something completely different. While most people would want many rooms in their dream house, the rooms in mine, would be not be rooms. Rather, the rooms of my dream house would be individual houses!

Since the micro house revolution of the 2010s, people have desired a small house. Tiny abodes which house just the basics. When I first read up on micro houses, I wanted something different. Sure, I wanted many rooms in my dream house. Yet, with the micro house movement, I reconsidered my thoughts on the matter. What came to me was not a massive mansion. No, far from it. It was then I thought about having a dream house composed of smaller micro houses. The final concept? Why, it would not be a dream house, but a dream village!

Now, a lot of people might be asking what I would do in the event it rained. This is why I would have a massive canopy constructed over my dream house (or houses). The canopy would prevent rain from soaking me or any visitors as they traverse from one "room" to another.

My dream "house" would resemble a village in many ways. Its rooms would be separate buildings devoted to a single task. Here is the rundown:

Bedroom

My bedroom would be much like the one in the photo above. To put it simply, a small cottage made to look like a simple house. Additional bedrooms would also be constructed to resemble cottages as well. However, the master bedroom would be built much larger than the others.

Kitchen

The kitchen would be a separate house constructed to resemble an English pub, complete with tables in front. The stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, cabinets and, of course, my food, would be in the back. Aside from the pub, other ideas for my kitchen would include making it look like a restaurant! So in a way, the kitchen would also be a home bar too! Plus, my kitchen would be large to accommodate family and friends for things like parties and holidays.

Living Room

The living room would resemble a massive common house. For those unaware, back in the day, the common house is where the townsfolk or villagers would gather around and congregate. It was here matters of the town or village would be discussed and for all to give their opinions. In my dream "house", the common house would serve as the living room. The living room/common house would also have an area reserved for video games and films.

The Library

I believe every dream house must have a library. A place to read books and to study undisturbed. Therefore, the library would be a building made to resemble an actual library. Complete with a mannequin tailored to resemble a librarian! Sure, it may come off as strange to some, but a librarian mannequin could add to the ascetic. The library would also serve as the den of my dream house.

Bathroom

Before the invention of indoor plumbing, the bathroom was merely an outhouse. Yet, in my dream house, the large outhouse would have modern day commodities, bath, and shower for all to use and see!

Garage

The garage where I would place my cars would also be a garage. However, in my dream house, it would look like the real deal! Complete with metal signs and automotive debris such as tires, hubcaps, and parts to make it look real. I would even add old fashion gas pumps for the thrill of it!

Laundromat

Here is another fun attribute in regard to my dream house. Rather than just have the washing machine and dryer in the back room, I would have a laundromat! Now that would be something fun in my dream house! Instead of my own laundry room, I'd have my own laundromat! A simple building housing the washing machine and dryer! And the best part? It's free! That is as long I keep the electrical bills paid on time!

Clinic

In this room...or rather, separate house...the clinic would be where I put all of my medical supplies, bandages, and first aid kits. There would also be a bed or two in case someone became sick. That way, the indisposed person would have a place to heal in privacy. And to also curtail any chances of spreading infections.

Post Office

The mail box would resemble a tiny post office. I would even add another mannequin of a postal worker to collect the mail for me. Yes, I would have a flag and everything too! However, I ponder if people would assume my mail box were the real deal? Something to think about!

There are countless other rooms I would add to my dream "house". Yet, for now, I am focusing on the basics. In fact, the most appealing attribute of this dream "house" is in the event I need to add on, I could just buy another micro house! No need to move or hire contractors. Just add on by adding another building!

I have never understood why people had to possess a large house. As I have explained, I just want my dream house to resemble a village. While some would find it odd, I take pleasure in it because it would be my dream house. Or more accurately, my dream village. In a sense, I could experience living in my own dream village, which would also serve as my dream house. In closing, I admit it may come off as odd, but I take pleasure in this idea. It's not everyday one devises a dream house which resembles more than a house, but an entire village!
