Wondering how to promote my business with social media? If that’s you, you’ve landed on this page and it’s not by accident. When I first got started with online marketing, social media was the main platform to market my business online. Is it the same for you as well? Or have you experienced that in the past?
Of course other business owners always preached to me how important social media was and is to be used. They would always tell me, if you’re missing out on social media, you’re missing out on an entire group of potential buyers. As I came to find out, it’s true - but how true?
If that’s something you’re interested in, I’ll explain what I mean in another post.
At this moment, what I want to do for you is provide social media promotion ideas you can use and potentially get results with. Once you utilize these ideas, you’ll definitely have a better understanding of what it takes to promote your business using social media. So let’s get to it!
How to Promote Your Business with Social Media (Step-By-Step Guide)
Here are some how to promote a product on social media examples or steps you should follow if you want a better return on your social marketing efforts.
Now, I’m not going to guarantee you any results.
But I will say following these steps will put you in a greater position to earn more commissions in your business.
So let’s start with one of the most important steps.
STEP 1 – Choose A Platform
How to Promote My Business with Social Media
When it comes to social media marketing, there’s one important step you must establish. Before proceeding with your marketing efforts, you must establish which social platform you plan to use primarily. Sure some say using all social sites work, right? Well, they’re definitely wrong.
Using every social platform can actually hurt your marketing efforts. How, you ask? It’s actually pretty simple. Your Target Market isn’t necessarily on every social platform. So by promoting on every network, you may be spreading yourself way too thin.
Meaning, instead of focusing on one site that could produce the best results for you, you’re spending time on many others, not sure what to do or how much time to spend on each one. Which is why I say, once you know your target market, this issue can easily be solved.
STEP 2 – Identify Your Target Market
Next, once you’ve chosen the social platform you want to spend most of your time on, it’s time to key in on who your potential buyers are. Heads up, this step may take time. Your objective is to identify people who have a need for what you’re selling.
So don’t spend time finding and talking to the masses, do this instead.
Spend time talking to a massive amount of those you consider and view as your ideal customers. It will make your marketing and selling efforts a lot easier to achieve results. Once you identify them, move on to the next step.
STEP 3 – Find, Engage & Connect
Ok, so we know who our Target Market is, now it’s time to find targeted prospects, engage and connect with them. One of the best tools you can use is actually called Tagboard. It allows you to both find and connect with targeted prospects through their social media posts in real time.
No matter what site they post on, Tagboard will allow you to see and even visit their posts as they share it. Once you engage or discover their posts, there’s no better way to connect with others than through using messenger. Check out their posts, visit their profile and send them a message.
STEP 4 – Discover A Need Through Chat/Messenger
As you begin chatting with a potential buyer, ask about their situation and how it’s going. But when you ask, keep in mind you have an offer that can be the solution.
Now you may be wondering, what if they’re not interested in what I’m selling?
Well, that’s when I remind you, if they weren’t interested, you wouldn’t be targeting them. That’s why Target Marketing is so effective. Not everyone will be honest about their situation or results, but some will. If they truly need help, they’ll say it.
At that point, it’s up to you to present your offer as a solution to their problem.
STEP 5 – Invite & Follow Up
Once you connect with your targeted prospects and find a need they have, invite them to check out your offer. Tell them that you have a solution that can help with what they’re struggling with and you can help them overcome their obstacle. Now, just because you share your solution with them doesn’t mean they’re going to sign up right away.
It’s important to follow up with your prospects after you’ve invited them to check out your offer. Now, you can either do it manually, or utilize email marketing software to get the job done. I honestly recommend the latter.
It can be hard to follow up individually with every single potential client. So when using email marketing software, you’re going to need something called an autoresponder. You can find it and learn more about it on our tools and resources page.
STEP 6 – Close the Sale
Ok, so you’ve decided to use your autoresponder to follow up with automated email sequences. But, they still haven’t decided to take action and join you. This is when you’re going to need selling and closing skills. Most people are afraid to sell, let alone close a sale.
So look, I understand you may not be comfortable actually closing. I just want to share with you, if people aren’t actually able to earn commissions in their business, it’s because they’re too afraid to just ask for the sale. Once you learn this skill of closing, you’ll be amazed at how help and beneficial it can actually be for both you and the buyer.
Keep in mind, if your product is actually good and can solve their issue, why not share it?
It’s truly a win-win situation.
