How to Prepare for Halloween Without Worries
Only two weeks are left until Halloween. It’s the perfect time to start or step up your preparations for the most mysterious night of the year.
Some of your neighbours might have been preparing since August, but don’t worry about time and ideas. With the help of AI chatbots like ChatGPT or ChatOn, you can get everything ready quickly and efficiently. In this post, I’ll share my favorite prompts and life hacks for making your Halloween unforgettable.
Search for Halloween decor inspiration
For me, the most important Halloween decorations are pumpkins and spiderwebs, but this year I decided to ask AI for more ideas. I used the following prompts:
- List five ideas for decorating a spacious one-room flat to create a Halloween vibe.
- Offer five ideas for decorating an entrance door to make a spooky atmosphere that I can quickly do myself.
The AI chatbots gave me plenty of fresh ideas that I hadn’t tried before. Thanks to them, my room will significantly change in a few days. I plan to turn my windowsill into a Halloween altar with pumpkins, potion bottles, dried flowers, mirrors, and tarot cards. Who knows, maybe I’ll even try to predict my near future using tarot cards? I haven’t done it before, but I’m sure that I can upload a photo of cards to ChatOn and ask for an interpretation.
Also, the idea of wrapping my door in overlapping strips to look like bandages blows my mind. It’s so easy and amazing!
Design unique Halloween costumes
Deciding what to wear is always difficult for me. I usually spend a lot of time thinking about what I can wear from my wardrobe and trying to put outfits together. But in the end, I feel tired and end up wearing jeans with a t-shirt because I just can’t decide. The necessity to wear something special makes me feel terrible. It’s not about a bad mood for the event, but this time I want to feel more positive.
So, to seek inspiration, I asked an AI chatbot to generate images of costumes related to the Wednesday series or gothic style. The visualizations were not bad, but I have concerns about how to create them. My second step was to ask the chatbot how to make DIY costumes that closely match my AI-generated references. My prompts were:
- Tell me how to create a gothic fairy costume using recycled materials.
- Give me a step-by-step guide on how to create a look like Wednesday Addams has.
Plan what to cook
Every year, I'm surprised by how few restaurants and cafes offer special Halloween dishes. I don’t like cooking and prefer to order pizza or sushi for takeaway or buy ready-made food, and I want to have a big choice for celebrating Halloween. Unfortunately, my expectations haven’t been met, so I need to search for easy recipes for special meals. This year, I’ve made my choice thanks to the next prompts:
- Give me five easy recipes for main dishes for Halloween.
- Give me five easy recipes for healthy desserts for Halloween.
I plan to cook Bloody Spaghetti with “Eyeballs” and pumpkin Yogurt Parfaits. I’m not very confident in my cooking skills—the results may not taste as good as I imagine, but in the worst-case scenario, I’ll order pizza and add pumpkin puree instead of sauce.
Choose the best games
This Halloween, I’ll meet with my partner, and maybe one of my friends will join us; that's why I need to plan a few games. I guess that my partner will prefer to watch films and eat chips, but I need to be ready for any choice. I used such prompts as:
- Advise five games for Halloween that don’t need long preparation and can be interesting for small groups of two to three friends.
- Advise five games for Halloween, appropriate for couples.
If my friend arrives for our cosy evening, I guess we’ll play Halloween Charades because the preparation requires only paper, pencils, and a bowl. If it’s just the two of us, I guess we can play Pumpkin Painting Face-Off. I only need to buy two small pumpkins that can be reused later.
Create lists of scary films and spooky songs
Scary films and spooky songs are a must-have for Halloween, and my first idea is to watch the Wednesday series. At the same time, I’m not sure my partner will agree, since we’ve already watched these series this year. While Netflix hasn’t recommended the best horror films for a cosy evening, I can ask an AI chatbot for suggestions. These are my prompts:
- Recommend 10 classic horror films (or less frightening movies) for home watching at Halloween.
- Recommend 50 spooky songs and melodies for a Halloween playlist.
This way, I can choose one or two films from recommendations I haven’t seen yet. Maybe I’ll ask the AI chatbot follow-up questions to help me decide.

It looks like I’m ready to celebrate Halloween and satisfy its mysterious atmosphere. With AI chatbots, the preparations take less time and cause fewer worries. This year, I hope to enjoy every moment of this festive period.
