Stress is a huge problem today, especially in the youth. Now, stress can be due to many different reasons and as the number of reasons grows, so does stress which translates into frustration most of the time.

In third-world countries, stress and frustration run high among people and they, especially the desi people of the subcontinent, have found ways to cooperate with frustration and developed unique ways to deal with stress. Let us take a look at some of them.

1. Denial. Desi people, especially the boomers have a hard time accepting the fact that too much stress is a bad thing. According to them, stress is just some made-up thing propagated by the West to de-track our youth.

2. More work. According to this approach if you keep busy and work more, then you will not have enough time to think about stress. Like yeah, stress is just a thought you know, you’ll forget about it in no time if you have more stress-related things on your mind right?

3. Sitting with friends and drinking tea. Now, this does sound like a positive way to deal with stress, but wait till you get to know how exactly this works. So, to execute this you will need some cheapskate friends. What happens is that you can tell your friends anything or any news, happy, sad, stressful, hurtful and they will have a single default solution for all of them, which is, come let's have tea. These guys will invite you over to drink for which you will pay tea, listen to your worries and then proceed to give some of the most valuable advice, like if you tell them you're sad, they will tell you just be happy, simple. The advice that you get will even make you forget your worry.

4. Who is more stressed competition. This anti-stress strategy also involves friends. What you do is, you call a friend of yours and proceed to share your woes with him, but, he interrupts you and adds another friend of yours to the call. Now after you share your misery, these guys start revealing their stories of how miserable their days are going and how frustrated they are. Soon this turns into each of you telling tall tales just to come across as most stressed out. just remember you have to get creative with your stress.

5. Anger and abuse. Now, this sounds harsh and violent but it is not as bad. You start by analyzing all the messed-up stuff in your life and proceed to abuse the people responsible for that, then you slowly move on to abuse people in higher places of power, ending with you saying every bad word you can invent about the president. The most important thing to remember here is that, all this bad-mouthing has to come from within and you have to really feel these abuses.

These are the most used methods by the desi people all across the globe. Not necessarily correct, practically or morally, but some of them sure do work and are effective. So, if you find any of them to be useful, do tell me, I would love to hear your thoughts.
