How to Easily Settle Printer Attention Required Issue?
Printer Settings to fix “Requires your attention error”

Your HP printer worked fine for up to one day; you received an error message that HP printer care requires Windows 10. This problem can arise due to many reasons such as outdated driver or printer software or network connection problem.
Sometimes the hardware can also become the culprit for this kind of problem. So check if all the panel doors are closed properly. Also check if the printer is loaded with enough paper and ink. The next thing is to check if the cables are firmly connected with the printer, the system and the power outlet.

HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR):
Initially, we will try to resolve this issue with the HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR), an automated tool that helps diagnose and resolve printing and scanning issues. This tool will also help you to check the network connectivity issue, especially remove the printer offline issue.
- First download HP print and scan doctor app from HP official site
- Then run the .exe file downloaded from the HP Print and Scan Doctor application
- Now open the app
- Then click Start and select your printer name from within the application.
- If you don't see your printer name in the list, turn your printer off and on
- then give it a try again
- If HP Print and Scan Doctor asks you to make your printer the default, set it as the default
- If a message appears to perform the required printer updates, update all of them.
- Upon having any connection issue, the app will prompt you to resolve that issue with precise guidelines.
Set a manual IP address
Before you start configuring the static IP address, make sure your printer is online. Navigate to your HP printer and tap the settings button. Use the navigation buttons to choose the network settings that appear in the LED window. Now press the right navigation button to choose Print network settings and click OK. The print settings will contain the information including the subnet mask, IP address, and default gateway which is the network address of the router.
Now open a web browser of your choice
- Then enter the IP address of your printer that you have noted before
- then click enter
- This will bring up the control panel of your printer
- Choose the networks tab and under the connections tab choose the wired option
- Next, under IP Address Settings, choose the Manual IP option
- In the next session, enter your printer's IP address, default gateway, and subnet mask
- Finally click on Apply option
Once you are done with the above steps, you may need to reboot your devices to check if the printer attention required is resolved or not.
Note: Find the IP address of the HP printer
Run the troubleshooter present on the printer
- First press win key and i on your system keyboard
- This will navigate to the Printer Security & Update option.
- In the next menu choose Troubleshoot option
- Next, choose the printer and tap on Run the troubleshooter option
- Now simply follow the instructions displayed to exit the care required
Update your HP printer driver to the latest
Updating your printer with the latest update can help you resolve many issues that exist with your system and printer, such as network connection, errors, and also strengthen your printer with the latest features.
- Initially restart your computer
- This will help you list the missing updates in the list
- Then press the Win key and check for updates in the search bar
- This will start the update process automatically.
- You can manually click the Download button to launch the same
The printer driver update process can also be done using Device Manager
- Initially press the win key
- Now search for Device Manager
- Then from the list of available devices choose your printer name
- Next, right-click on the printer name and select the Update Driver option
- Now choose Search automatically for updated driver software
- Then simply follow the instructions online to complete the software update process.
- Once completed, restart your computer to see if the attention required is resolved or not
Restart the print spooler service on your HP printer
Aside from the print job being stuck in the printer, resetting the print queue can resolve many common printing problems.
- Initially open the start menu
- Enter the services in the search bar
- In the next option choose services
- Now, on the next page, choose the Print Spooler option
- Then right click on the print queue and click stop
- Just wait a few seconds for the printer to stop.
- After that, right click on the print spooler option to restart the service
Resetting the print queue from task manager - alternative option
- Open Windows task manager by pressing ctrl+shift+esc buttons
- Now choose the service tab and select spooler from the list
- After that check the status, if you see the status is running then you have to right click on it and choose the restart option
- You have to right click on the spooler option to choose the start and stop option
- Now restart your HP printer and system
- Try printing again to see if the error has been resolved or not.
