How to convert your loft into an office.
If you need a remote office, then why not convert the loft?

Introduction.
The last 12 months have been incredibly challenging for us all. Since the lockdown began last year, many of us had no option but to make the transition from working in our familiar office space to working from home. This transition is very challenging for those of us that don’t have a dedicated space at home that we can use to work undisturbed, especially for those of us that need to make numerous phone call, or have technical jobs that require a lot of concentration.
For many of us, remote working may become a permanent fixture.
Advances in modern remote working technologies have allowed us to working more efficiently from home than ever before. The introduction of tools like Microsoft Teams and zoom have made it easier than ever to communicate with our colleagues, and Cloud services have made it far easier to collaborate on tasks and projects.
In addition.
From a financial perspective, it is very possible that many business will consider retiring their office space IF their staff can work effectively from home and productivity isn’t affective, especially if they can save thousands of pounds in rental costs, rates and utility bills. Also, working form home can save employees a lot of time and money that is spent on commuting. These considerations make working from home permanently an even more attractive proposition for both the employer and employee.
Need a remote office at home. Why not convert the loft?
Not many of us have one or two spare bedrooms that we can convert into a temporary or permanent office. If you do, then good luck to you! If however you don’t have a spare room and you really need some office space at home, then one option is to invest in a loft conversion.
Having the loft converted may sound slightly overboard, but there are many benefits and advantages to investing in such a home improvement. For example, a professional loft conversion will ALWAYS add value to your property, weather it is a velux conversion or a full dormer conversion. In addition, a loft can be one of the best areas in your home to use for office space because you are further away from areas in the home where you will be more disturbed. In addition, there are many hidden areas that can be used for storing files, folders and work materials.
Here’s some good reasons to convert your loft into an office.
Make the most of natural light.
The loft is the one of the best areas in your home for allowing natural sunlight, especially if you choose to have multiple velux windows. It is essential to work in a well-lit room, especially if you are working at a Computer terminal. You may also want to consider having houseplants in your loft because they help to make your working environment more relaxing, and they’ll also love the natural light!
When choosing your windows, make sure that you pick a brand that blinds are available for, especially if the sun is shining directly on your work space at a certain time of day.
There’s lots of space to utilise.
It is typical for a converted loft to have lots of potential storage areas, namely in the eves or in nooks and crannies that are hidden in the roof angles or structural support. These areas can be used to add shelving for storing files and folders, in addition to materials that you use for work. And if your budget permits it, you can also invest in a purpose built desk that is cut to size, in or around covers.
Why not create a multi-functional space?
If you are having your loft converted, then why not make the room multi-task and utilise furniture that can be used to make a multi-functional space? For example, use a sofa that converts into a bed, or use fold out table tops or desk tops.
