List of different fun DIY uses for roses

Roses are beautiful, but their uses expand far beyond their beauty. Rose pedals can be used for a variety of things like beauty care, fashion trends, and even cooking. They can be fresh, oven dried, or hang dried. Below I have created a list of some of the most popular uses roses and rose pedals can be used for.

~Grinded dried rose pedals can be used to make a health beneficial herbal tea. (Make sure any rose pedals you use for this haven’t had any toxic chemicals like pesticides used on them.) The effects of rose tea can treat nerves, menstrual cramps, and stomach pains. It also has a soothing calmness that helps in stress relief. I myself love to combine honey suckles into my rose tea. Honey suckles produce a natural nectar, and causes a chemical reaction in the binarual gland causing a happy feeling to sooth over the body. (You can also add fennel seed. Fennel seed breaks down bacteria in the stomach, and can break down kidney stones.)

~Dried rose pedals can be used to create incense bags. Combining dried apple peels, rose pedals, cut cinnamon sticks, and cloves you can create an elegant, yet ebony like aroma. You can also soak rose pedals in natural oils like lavender, citrus, and mint before drying them to achieve other scents of your desire.

~Rose water can be made by soaking fresh roses in a container of warm water over a twenty four hour period of time. Rose water can be used to create body washes, perfumes, and to treat afflictions of the skin like break outs, dry skin, eczema, and patches. When combined with witch hazel it can also be used as a natural skin toner.

~Rose bathes have grown very popular in today's era. Fresh rose pedals, lavender, and honey combined into a hot bathe can create an almost intoxicating bathe. Benefits to the body is smooth skin, stress relief, and treats dry skin. My favorite bathe to do with roses is the honey butter milk bathe. Roses can also be used as décor in bathes for those trying to get the perfect picture.

~Rose bath salts can be made by using one cup Epsom salts, one fourth cup Himalayan salt, one fourth cup dried rose pedals, and ten to twenty drops of natural essential oils of your choosing. Combine all ingredients and mix well in a bowl, store in an airtight container. You now have your own scented homemade rose bath salts. You can also add in other herbal ingredients like lavender.

~Rose pedals are also edible (as long as no pesticides have been used on them) and can be used in food. One popular use for eating rose pedals is adding them into a salad, this adds vibrancy and color to the dish. You can also create an edible Rose honey. (Works great for a honey drizzled fried Italian chicken dish) Using fresh rose pedals and honey combine and store in a mason jar. Store for six-eight weeks, then strain out any undissolved rose pedals from the honey. Keep in an airtight container, rose honey is also great in herbal teas and can act as a natural sweetener with whipped crème in coffee.

~Rose pedals are also popular for romance. Whether it’s pedals being thrown down a wedding’s aisle, or laid out leading to a romantic gesture something about them just speaks romantic. You also never really know where a pathway of rose pedals can lead too which adds onto their effect in my opinion. They could lead you to a candle lit dinner, a romantic bath, or even a bed.
