Stressing out about Christmas?

This time of the year is so wonderful and cheery, until we stop and remember that a big part of Christmas is gift giving! Obviously, spending money isn't the point of the holiday... but our kids will debate that with you. We tell them all year round that they can wait until Christmas for a certain item and then when it rolls around, we still can't afford it. It can be more stressful for those of us with offspring and live in or below the middle class standard.

Believe me, I find myself crying around this time of year because I want to give her the world. I've had to think outside the box this year since COVID sucked my savings account dry.

Your kids could care less where you (Santa) got the toys. For all they know, the elves made them!

Wish.com

Before you roll your eyes at this one, give it a chance. I have only had a problem with one or two things I bought from them and I literally buy from them every other day. There are tips to navigating this app that will keep you from regretting even downloading the app.

If you're a first time buyer, you'll automatically get a discount on your first purchase. (( Click the title to get $5!)

This app literally sells everything. The key is to pay close attention to the description of the items and the reviews. If there aren't any reviews, then it's just a toss up because it's a new product.

Everything on here comes from China. That can be good and bad. It won't get here in 2 days like your Amazon Prime, but you'll be getting the same products for 75% off.

The longest it's ever taken me to get a package is 3 weeks and that's because of COVID.

Take a chance on this site!

Walmart

Believe it or not, 60% of people will not even consider Walmart for Christmas presents.

Those people are missing out! I bought almost all of my daughter's gifts from there last year. Sometimes, they have REALLY good deals for quality items.

You might even wanna check them out on Black Friday! I got a coffee maker, microwave, Canon camera, and a smart watch for my daughter all for $100 and some change.

That's the only place I go now.

Five Below

Now, I'm not sure if this store is in every state, but they do have an online site. Literally everything in the store is $5 or under. I will run to that store all year round before I go somewhere else.

They sell things for all ages, genders, etc.

Some examples are: clothes, workout gear, toys, books, electronics, home decor, jewelry, makeup, shoes, cleaning supplies, etc. Hands down, this is my favorite store EVER.

Online yard Sales

The internet is a ginormous place now. There's no reason you shouldn't be using it to your advantage. Online yard sales and garage sales are so popular now. Facebook Marketplace, Let Go, Offer up, craigslist, etc.

People sell gently used items and brand new items on there for cheap! I got my mom a brand new Apple Watch last year for $20 on Facebook. Don't knock it until you try it.

Here's some quick bulletpoint tips to make Christmas morning a little more magical!

  • Always wrap clothes and little toys seperately! It gives your kids more presents to open.
  • Start a stocking tradition! Go to the dollar store and fill their stocking with little toys, snacks, candy, etc. I put bath toys and candy in mine
  • Put on a Christmas movie and pop some cinnamon rolls or biscuits in the oven!

Most importantly, smile. Your kids or spouse will be happy no matter What!
