If you think it is impossible to find well-paying writing jobs, you are absolutely wrong. While some niches like travel hit hard due to the pandemic, other industries are doing really well. For example, you can write poetry, fiction, and nonfiction and can make money from the comfort of your home. Remember that you can earn up to $1500 a post only if you are able to cover all types of topics and subjects. Also, you shouldn't have any shortage of ideas because the editors of top publications don't want ordinary pieces. Instead, they are looking for fresh and unique concepts and varying perspectives.

The following magazines are calling all freelance content creators and provide lots of work to the right kind of freelancers.

The Change Agent

The Change Agent accepts writing from both inexperienced experienced writers. The average length of an article is 200 to 1000 words. They are paying $50 stipends to adult education students whose work is accepted by the editor. A call is published two times a year: in mid-August and mid-February. There are two deadlines for submissions: early May and early November. You may check the official website for more details.

Sport Fishing

Sport Fishing publishes nine issues every year. They have over 80,000 readers across the globe and accept well-written pieces. The article you write should provide information on saltwater fishing. Please don't send ideas that have been discussed extensively by their previous writers or similar magazines. Instead, you need to find a fresh fishing idea to engage the target audience. Typically, the length of a feature is 1800 to 2400 words. You cannot submit rambling 8,000-word manuscripts. As far as the payment is concerned, they pay $750 for one print feature. Content creators who submit outstanding photos along with written text receive up to $1500.

Funds For Writers

Funds For Writers is one of my favorite magazines. They accept articles with 550 to 650 words. Your content should be inspiring and sweet. Make your writing tight and avoid passive voice. It must be about earning a living as a freelance writer or content creator. They don't like how-to articles and other types of generic posts. Instead, they want ideas that have never been discussed. They also accept success stories of top writers, profitable business practices, unique marketing tips, and anything that can help writers make money. They pay $60 for an unpublished original article and $20 for a reprint.

Parabola

Parabola is a quarterly journal that is devoted to exploring different myths, religious traditions, and symbols in the world, with emphasis on the relationship between modern life and wisdom. Their issues are organized around different themes, such as The Wild, Presence, Happiness, and The Quest. They accept translations and original essays. You can send the article in a Word file via email. Make sure your articles are directly related to one of their themes. The length of a piece should be 1000 to 3000 words. A book review should have 500 words and a forum contribution needs to have less than 500 words. They pay $200 to $400 per piece.

You now have a decent number of options. I am sure you will want to earn thousands of dollars every month by writing only a couple of stories. Isn't it? Well, I strongly recommend you to spare some time to read a couple of stories published on these sites. Try to know the tone, style, and format, and then contact them directly. If possible, send a well-crafted pitch to every publisher based on their requirements and wait for a response. There is no need to send follow-up emails because it can lead them to ignore or reject you.
