Website monitoring can give you an edge over your competitors. Minimize the risk of losing customers, stakeholder trust, and revenue by simply detecting performance-related issues, aspects of website malfunction, location-related errors, or being notified when downtime occurs. You can keep it to a limit. Website monitoring is still fairly broad, encompassing multiple monitoring approaches and practices. Data can be collected by simulating a user's behavior or by understanding and evaluating the steps of a real human interacting with her website.

Advantages of using open-source solutions

Many tools have broad developer communities. That said, you may find additional features in various reports. At least most of the time, it's free. You may have to pay for infrastructure or some onboarding course. They work as a complement to your existing monitoring solutions.

To get a good and reliable monitoring solution, you must think about what you want from a tool, do some research, and finally test it on your infrastructure. Some tools may lack essential functionality; others may take a long time to learn. This article outlines the best open-source website monitoring solutions and adds some freemium solutions.

In the event of downtime, Uptime automatically opens a new issue in your GitHub repository. You can edit this repository to add additional information about the outage, such as root cause analysis. You can also set up notifications using services like Slack and Telegram. The status site uses GitHub Pages. View live status, incident history, and response time graphs.
