5 ways to make money on Amazon

**“FEED the BEAST”** a very common term used in Amazon groups to highlight the fact that its never enough what products you send in or list on Amazon to sell, thats how massive Amazon ecosystem is ! Having sold at-least over $7 million+ worth of products physical and Merch and a decade of experience, In this article I share with you 5 ways **you** can ***make money*** on Amazon. in the last year or 2 most of us have realised the importance of having multiple sources of income. so whether you are looking to supplement your income via a side gig to achieve F.I.R.E or thinking of building a full-time eCommerce career. Amazon platform provides lots of opportunities for a beginner like us.

1 Amazon to Amazon flips

Amazon to Amazon Flips** is one of the easiest to start with and also it almost guarantees you a profit. in simple words, you buy products from Amazon to sell them back on Amazon. We all know how big Amazon is which means it has the best buying power and hence whenever they run a special deal chances are it's most likely a heavily discounted deal either discounted by Amazon or subsidised promo deal from the manufacturer. This gives you an awesome chance to flip some products for a quick profit. How do you find those deals? well, there are a lot of ways to monitor products you like to flip on regular basis but to start with, the best place would be to look at their daily deals session which has new deals every day! there are some bonus days where you can make big bucks for eg Amazons Prime day deals where there are 1000’s of deals, Black Friday deals, Boxing day deals and so on. Just a ground-rule to remember though always buy products to resell which are known brands and not private labels sold by the 3rd party seller.

2 Retail Arbitrage / Online arbitrage

2nd on the list is **Arbitrage**! commonly-known as Retail Arbitrage / Online Arbitrage. This option involves buying products from retail outlets - online retailers to flip back on Amazon. Again the products are the same that you see on the shelves all the time. toys such as Disney, Lego electronics like speakers, tablets, computing products n so on. here you are scouting for products that are on offer at retailers like Walmart, Tesco, Target, Asda etc. in other words big supermarkets and then comparing it on Amazon to see if you can make a profit. There are various software, sites that can help you to track, calculate profits while scouting for such deals in the US, UK.

3 Private Label

Third on the list is Private Labelling. This is where you are sourcing products directly from manufacturers and putting your own branding and then reselling on Amazon. Some huge names would be like Anker which started as a small brand selling mobile power banks and now are probably one of the largest private label brand on [Amazon.com](http://amazon.com/), Amazon UK etc. however there are 1000s of other small home-based private label sellers in every niche you can think off. private label gives you a chance to build your own brand and has an exit pay off .. so when you see entrepreneurs on shark tank in the US, dragons den in UK etc those are private label entrepreneurs like us who has a vision of some product and hopefully grow it into a huge brand to either sell and exit with a large sum of cash or have a business to pass on to next generation. here you source products from China, India etc where it's manufactured, rebrand them and then promote and sell via Amazon's platform. The advantage here is that you can grow as much as you want as there's no restriction on the number of products or units you can buy, unlike Arbitrage or flipping where you are restricted to the offers and no of units available. however, since your brand is not known you have to work your way up by promoting your products with pay per click options, social media, doing deals on Amazon etc and it takes time to research niche, products, find a sample from factories, do branding, marketing. so its time consuming and more work but have unlimited potential to grow and exit. for eg if you look at the site empire flippers you will find Amazon businesses that are more than a year old can be sold there for approx 24-35x their monthly net profit.

4 Affiliate marketing

On no 4 we have **affiliate marketing**. if you are someone who doesn't like to get involved in the physical product business then this one is definitely for you. it involves getting commission paid by Amazon for promoting products sold on Amazon. The easiest eg would be the TECH review channels on youtube that does unboxing and reviews on cool gadgets and then leaves a direct link to Amazon for those products. The products will cost you the same however it earns them a small commission for referring to Amazon. There are several ways to promote your desired products on platforms like Tiktok, Youtube, Instagram, a blog post to name a few. You will first have to chalk a plan as to what niche are you interested in creating content for and then find various products that fit in your niche. apart from making commissions by placing product links you can also earn royalties by referring to services offered by Amazon like Amazon Prime, Audibles etc

5 Merch by Amazon

On no. 5 I have something for you creative entrepreneurs **Merch by Amazon** is a platform that allows you to create designs that can be placed on t-shirts, pillowcases, hoodies, phone cases and more. it's a platform that doesn't cost you a penny. All you do is upload designs which can be simple text-based or graphics and illustrations and when a customer purchases any of those products Amazon will print, pack ship the products and you get a royalty cut from it based on the pricing you have set. so it's a ZERO product handling business. Now you can rely on Amazon's organic reach based on the keywords, title you put on your products but you can also promote it by building a niche based Instagram page, TikTok, Pinterest etc, the possibilities are endless and people make 5 figure royalties from these business model

Conclusion

It is mind-blowing how many ways you can make money on amazon. if you are looking to supplement your income with a side gig I believe flipping is the easiest option as you don't need much startup money, you can flip products for quick profits as products are already well-known brands, whereas if you want to build a long term consistent brand then private label gives you that opportunity to exit with some huge cash and lastly for someone who doesn't like physical goods business and is better at social media, content creation and looking for passive and creative ways to make money then Merch by Amazon, Affiliate marketing would be the path to take.
