Home remodelling and kitchens Central Coast renovations have been a common occurrence in the neighbourhood as more people try to be busy by redesigning their most favourite places inside their homes. The trend about minimalistic designs and multi-functional pieces of furniture is widely applied to newly renovated homes.

Now, if you've recently got into cooking because of the pandemic, but you have limited space and are planning on having it renovated, here are a few ideas that might help you achieve a multi-functional kitchen area.

Open-plan kitchen

Unlike the usual traditional homes which every part is divided by walls and open arches, most modern homes nowadays have open-plan kitchen spaces. The kitchen, dining area, and living room are in an open space where you can cook while socialising with your family in the living area. However, you can use different types of furniture to separate these areas from each other. For the living room, you can place a sofa to separate your dining area. For the dining area, you can have a wide and long enough island to separate it from your cooking space. This way, you can even watch the television in the living room while having your meal.

Multi-purpose kitchen island

Countertop islands in your kitchen space used to be a luxury for simple homes. But nowadays, it is a staple for most households. Kitchen islands can be as multi-functional as you want it to be. But of course, you have to make sure that what you have in mind is possible for your space. Perse, countertops can either have another sink, can be the specific cooking area, can be a substitute to your dining table, or another storage full of drawers for your alcoholic drinks and other stockpiles of food. Well if you have a super tight area, using the island as a substitute to your dining table is a creative way to save space. Just place a few high chairs around it and that will do the trick.

Open shelves or cabinets?

There's no shortage of things to place in your kitchen area that's why you need a lot of storage space to keep them. You can either choose open shelves or cabinets. If you love dusting and is great at keeping the display shelf organised, then open shelves might be for you. You can buy a nice set of jars for your condiments and other supplies that you preferred to be displayed. However, if you're not a huge fan of dusting and organising, make sure to get kitchen cabinets instead. It will help make your kitchen area more organised and clutter-free.

Pop-up power sockets

Exposed extension cords and wires can somehow ruin the aesthetics and overall look of your space. Aside from that, if you have pets, it is generally very dangerous to have exposed wires as they can chew on them. And when you're not a fan of uncluttered areas, you can have pop-up power sockets, especially in your kitchen island where you can work or charge your phone. Using pop-up power sockets is a neat way of decluttering your space as well as keeping it away from any water contact.

Whatever creative idea you are planning for your kitchen area, make sure to talk to a reputable contractor that will help you achieve your vision for your space.
