20 Productive Yet Fun Things to do at Home when You're Bored
Have nothing to do? Well here are 20 options for you
1. Read a Book. Whether or not it is a new book or a book that you've already read, reading stimulates the mind and will help pass the time.
2. Research interesting topics. Look up information about topics you find captivating, whether it's historical, political, something related to a fandom you're apart of, something part of your identity, or others!
3. Write. Write your life story, a journal entry, poem, a fictional story or script. Use some creative ideas that you've had and expand and write out those ideas. Maybe consider posting it to this website, vocal.media!
4. Clean your living space. With extra time, there's extra time to stay tidy! Also, consider donating extra items to charities or you could try to sell them to make extra money if it's needed! Music or a podcast on in the background will definitely make this task more enjoyable.
5. Find a new hobby. It's never too late to learn how to sew, draw, or even learn a new instrument! Not only are hobbies great stress relievers, but new passions and even jobs could stem from it.
6. Write letters to your friends. Instead of texting or direct messaging, sending papers in a pen pal like fashion would make it more interesting. Also, buying stamps and using the post office could help fund your postal service.
7. Practice typing. With a new age of technology, learning how to type at the vest to your ability will definitely be beneficial.
8. Find charities or small businesses to support. If you have the means, support others who may need the money you don't need to spend. Helping others benefits the lives of so many people, and kindness goes a long way.
9. Learn more about the politicians and political values you support. Do some research to help either further solidify your political stance, or learn more to help change some of your values.
10. Exercise. Exercising on a healthy basis will always have benefits, and getting on a good exercise schedule will ultimately benefit your health.
11. Write a letter to your future self. Ask your future self questions, write about your hopes and dreams for the future, and then put it somewhere you will find it.
12. Do some DIY craft projects. Personally, I've tried melting crayons to make cool pictures and rainbow patterns. Here is a link to a list of more DIY projects that is full have cool things to try.
13. Organize the pictures in your phone. To clear up space, deleting old pictures that you don't need will help. Try downloading them all to Google Photos so you can delete more photos from your phone itself in order to clear up more space.
14. Message somebody you haven't spoken to in awhile. If there's somebody who you've missed speaking to, message them and see how their doing. Make sure their doing okay, and maybe the friendship will grow.
15. Leave reviews for items you recently bought. Reviews will help online products get more sales or get more feedback to learn from. Even if it is a negative review, it will help potential customers when choosing the product to buy.
16. Try a new look. Wanting to change your appearance? Go for it! Go on YouTube and search different hairstyle or makeup tutorials and try them out. Shave your head or dye your hair.
17. Try new recipes. Experimenting in the kitchen will end with new food and potential new meals that could help with the issue of deciding what'r for dinner.
18. Update important legal documents, like a resume. Make sure everything is up to date to help save time in the future.
19. Get a word search, Sudoku or crossword book. Found at the nearest dollar store, these books not only have entertainment value, but academic value. Puzzles like those get the mind working.
20. Check your emails. Important information sent by emails need to be checked for on a daily basis to make sure you aren't missing anything significant!
