The wireless connection we have with the rest of the world is something to talk about, and one of the many benefits of the internet. But, it’s exactly because you and I are able to connect that I wish to share these websites with you. I’ve personally used and tested each and everyone of them and today I decided to put these together, and hopefully you’ll find this information useful.

Virus-total

With or without an antivirus you need virus total. Simple to use and straight to the point. You can upload any if not most of the common used media formats like zip, rar, exe, apk, and many more just to cover a few. You can also scan links, URL and videos as well. This is one of my favorites, it does so much, it’s an all in one type of website. I covered most of its features in a single post you can read about here.

Have I Been pwned

One of the oldest and best at what it does, this one not only checks for data breaches but also provides updates on data breaches as well as number of accounts that have been compromised as you can see below.

Paste your email to find out if it shows up as part of a website that has been compromised. You can also check the state of your password, but that’s a different story.

Trello

Trello is a useful website/app that can be used to manage about anything. You can use trello with freelancers and let them know of possible deadlines and details of the tasks by adding the activities to the kanban style cards used on trello.

Whatismyip

The name says it all, on this site you get to see your public IP address. If you didn’t know, just by writing on google “what is my IP address” you actually get results the first is usually the actual IP but this provides more than that and in a more organized manner.

Dnsleaktest

This website let’s you know what your public IP is, provides information about your ISP, and host-name. This is another way to show you how much websites know of you when you choose to browse the internet or in this case those particular websites. This is ideal for VPN, and users of other anony-mizing services. With this tool we get to see whether or not we have possible DNS leaks.

Privnote

It isn’t the same as signal but this has a similar feature. Use privnote if you wish to send a text that only the recipient will read, because exactly after it’s read the note self destructs. Like the devices used in Mission Impossible, remember those? But of course without the smoke :)

Codecademy
