Yesterday’s Wednesday!

For MY Nicole Leblanc!

Writing by,

Jennifer Cooley!

I didn’t find out the news until late Wednesday night ‘before’ bed here in Vancouver time, about 10:30 pm, so based on the last message a connecting friend had received from her on Tuesday morning saying... “I’m Okay!’ That for me in Toronto time was already going on Nicole’s Thursday, and at that time I did not know the last time there were any messages between her and any others who knew her too?

My last communication with her was on Oct 1st, the day I had hopped my flight back to Vancouver after a long summer that was somewhat disappointing from what I had hoped for in Quebec! I had to return for a one day in office training course with the company I work for on Oct 4th, so I was busy those first few days after I got home.

But that said, I will now always regret not being able to get the chance to get to her and spend just a little more time with her, (even if it had only been 24 hrs), considering I had just been on that side of Canada for 2 and a half months! I unfortunately just was not in Toronto for any part of that time (except when passing through at Union Station), which makes visiting with her difficult! She lives quite far away from Union Station and the transit, Lyft and taxi fares… well, if you don’t have it planned in your budget, then it’s just not something people traveling through like myself can afford!

Cindy Lauper has a song that says ‘Money changes everything,’ and well, in the case based on how much time I could have had with Nicole and what has now been stolen between her and I… I can HONESTLY SAY that IT WAS BECAUSE OF MONEY! Money IS the reason that changed everything between her time right then and my time in having to write these words and make this video now!

I will now never be able to live down that difference; it will carry with me in a form of sorrow that shall not lift from my heart or soul, every day I get out of bed, and every meal I make or Thanksgiving that comes and goes as long as I remain in the living without her!

The rising cost of our Canadian Economy limited my travel based on all the expenses between where I was starting from and where I was going within a necessary deadline on a tight budget! And so here I am now finding myself writing these words instead of still being able to talk and text and rejoice and have more good times with MY NICOLE!

I’m very much still in a state of shock over learning just how important it is to make those little extra efforts in a person’s life for those who are ill around us, (in learning to LISTEN to those little promptings from the holy spirit or higher power, which I failed twice to do in the 5 day window of time I had while staying with my family in Burlington Ontario). I tell you all, I plead with you, to LISTEN to those holy promptings, those whispers, where just a brief appearance of our souls, lives, faces, voices, and time sitting with them (significantly during the holiday seasons) and just how much of a difference that can make for them!

As it has now turned out over this present Thanksgiving for me as one very harsh reality and life lesson for which I will now never quite live down: that appearance during holiday times is the difference between here today and gone tomorrow!

Lucky for many of us who believe in the redemption and restoration that comes through the blood of Christ, we can all look forward to the promise of the resurrection that comes through Jesus, so we can take solace in knowing NICOLE WILL LIVE AGAIN and that some of us WILL INDEED get to see her again in that new Kingdom, that Paradise earth to come!

And what’s even better is that on that day, we will see Nicole Fully Restored to her Perfect Physical health and condition, where she will be well enough to run and chase after butterflies and laugh with joy, with no more tears, no more pain, no more hunger, no more disappointments, no more suffering!

So as I share these following words with all of you I just want to ask that everyone who knew her well and loved her so, to do this one thing in remembrance of her with me… that together we remember the Nicole we knew and Loved her for being, for being the brave soul she was, always trying to be strong enough to make it through, always holding on to the hope of a fully recovered tomorrow, the Nicole whose last typed words to Sarah, and well to ALL OF US too is that she is and will always be remembered most for being the Nicole that IS TELLING US… “I’m Okay!” 😊

Because she always had one wonderful regular habit that nobody around her might have understood, I did know, and so did Jesus and this with the wonderful help of Sarah too made her place in all of this just as important when dealing with these last days of her life that we all knew were coming, (but never guessing it was this soon) (for which I thank Sarah deeply for, for her part in this, for I and our Lord Jesus Christ above could not have been able to do it in such the way it now has been done, anyway because of never knowing the day, the time or the hour, something only Jesus knew, Nicole was never alone, not for 1 minute of those remaining days and hours, 1 of us through Jesus and ‘her habit of always keeping her bedroom light on for him’ could always do the job he entrusted us with the duty to do as his right hand band!

For Nicole’s faith and Love in Jesus Christ started young, from the time she was in Foster care at 12 yrs old, HE was ALWAYS HER ONE CONSTANT AND TRUE companion, always having her bedroom light on, was symbolic of him and his grace, and only his understanding of her loneliness and her pain!

Well she learned early on ‘that light IS HIM’, Jesus is the Light, Jesus is the Way, she was always inviting him to enter, and to be the one to comfort her, to take her unto him, to teach her and show her the way, and eventually also to include when it was the right time for her return to heaven, which as she struggled with her lifelong battle of self-harming issues she did not know the conclusion of for still being so young!

Leaving the light on was Jesus in her life, his blessing in disguise upon her life at all times of the day and night; it kept her here with us and safe with a longer lease on life, for as many years as God ‘could’ bestow upon her soul!

And well under Christ’s leadership between us (Sarah, Jesus & Me) as a little group of 3, Father, son and the Holy Ghost) for us who loved Nicole like we did, we did a perfect job, the best one Jesus could ask for! She may have been alone physically in that room, but she was in NO WAY ALONE Spiritually, or emotionally… she had Jesus, Sarah & me with her in that last 24 hrs, indeed! And of course, she also carried all the love and energy and care from all of you who knew and cared for her to!

That Tuesday she messaged Sarah was the last day I had gone out to do some errands to make sure I’d have just enough food to eat until my next pay day and to get some fresh air and find a way to keep myself living, keep myself getting up and getting out of my bed, and keeping that promise to keep on living, in-spite of my own similar challenges that made Nicole and I the special friends that we are! But I won’t get into that here, because these words and this time is all about her, just for her, not about me!

But I came home that same Tuesday she wrote to Sarah in the morning those words, “I’m Okay!” and I NEVER LEFT MY APT AGAIN for MORE than 24 hrs! I was HOME, HERE WITH HER in that ENTIRE LAST DAY of that Wednesday that I DID NOT KNOW that My Nicole was transferring over to the spirit world, and into the blue skies of God’s love above, and not with me in body anymore!

And so that entire day that I spent at home, I just went about my work as usual and had decided that it was time to write some NEW poetry, material that reflects my changing life now in-regards to my spiritual journey and recovery in life with struggles that I share with Nicole and others like that!

I have a book that is titled New Beginnings that I had started and dated back in 2016, but to this day, I have never finished! I have, of course, written a lot of things, but not the right things meant for the New Beginnings Book.

But in-light of recent events where other people had also passed away on me that were significant pieces of my soul and my life’s work as a writer… as well as listening to some talks given from people around those events! I was finally inspired and quickly came to realize why that book was titled what it was, and the time that it would be for.

And that time is NOW, and so I wrote 2 New pieces on that Wednesday (Oct 8th, 2025) (just a few short days ago) right alongside Nicole as her soul and energy lifted above this world and she regained her Angel wings in the heavens above on that Very Wednesday, on that Very Day at what exact time we will never know? But that is how the birth of the name of this story and chapter in her life and her life as a part of mine came to be named ‘Yesterday’s Wednesday!’

So, on that note, without wasting another moment of this precious time in speaking about my Nicole, I would like to share the following two pieces of work that I wrote over the course of that day.

“For my Nicole and everyone else suffering in silence with their own issues that need to know to just hold on for one more day, that God is with us and there is always hope, there is always the promise of New Beginnings, the one he has Promised us all will come, just know it is true, he is with us, and he is going to keep his word for everyone whose name is written in his book of life!”

~ New Beginnings! ~

Beginnings, Beginnings,

And thus

The New Beginnings

Begins!

Line upon line

Precept upon precept,

The story of truth tells itself,

Where no lies

Can live,

New Beginnings

Can Begin!

Never does

The Moral(s)

Of the story

Of truth,

End!

It is never boring

To learn what’s right,

To learn all things

New,

And to where all this

Perfect knowledge

Will lead the world too!

Line upon line

Precept upon precept

Mistakes can be made,

So that through God

We may learn,

How to make

What is wrong

Right!

Where no lies

Can live,

New Beginnings

Can Begin!

The story of truth will always

Tell itself,

The story of truth

Will always,

Win out!

A testimony of time

What it means

To have the past

Clear the presence of mind,

Between periods of history

In understanding it,

Correctly…

Through diligent study

Research, prayer & thought,

How amazing a gift

It is,

Every 50 to 100 years made clear

Debts cancelled,

Sins forgiven

All is New,

And so, the Beginning

Begins,

Again.

Armed with more facts

And experience

Of what we know is true,

That truth-telling reality

Continues to shine through!

Never does the moral

Of truth

End,

God’s story

Of New Beginnings,

Will always

Win!

Oh, come now…

Let the New Beginnings

Begin,

Whoever brings blessings

Upon this place,

Will do so by

The God,

Of truth, and grace.

He who takes an oath

In this land,

Will do so where they stand

In the name

Of the God, of Peace & faith

Come now,

Let us love

And embrace,

There’s no more need for debate

For the truth,

Is

Far too great!

The proof is in every day that dawns

Every smile and laugh we make,

And every breath of fresh air we take.

It’s clear

We’re a chosen people,

Blessed

And meant to be here!

Timing is everything

To this truth,

There is no end

So…

Let the New Beginnings,

Begin!

Line upon line

Precept upon precept,

The story of truth tells itself,

Where No Lies

Can live,

New Beginnings

Can Begin…

And thus

The New Beginnings, Beginnings

Begins!

~ A Human Writes/Rights Journey! ~

There’s always more to write

About our rights,

I mean, what is right, after all?

As the pages turn

A new lease on life is there,

In all the words & imagination

Creativity lays

To the page(s),

Whether with words or another form of art

It’s what fuels us,

Keeps us going from start to finish.

Without this ability to express

Unload or explode in this way,

How does one replenish

How does one reload?

To be prepared for the next round

Of drama and grenades?

It’s necessary for us

To be,

‘Some Kind of Able’

For each new day.

We must be sharp

And ready, like a balloon dart!

To get past the obstacles

In our way,

Day by day!

There’s always a need to escape,

The irony of the cruelty of all things

Unfair!

So, write I will, create ‘we’ must

Until we take our last breath,

And our bodies

Return to dust!

How do people live without a way

To unload, their journey

Along the way?

I can only imagine,

All the images

Thoughts, sounds, words,

Muddled up

In their hearts and minds,

Whirring around

With no place to go…

Of course, it’s common sense

That it would lead to decay

Of our Society,

Sickness and disease!

We are made to feel

And live,

In all the colors

That can be made.

My heart is now gloomy

Like a rainy cloud, over me

For it’s not enough to just write,

These words

It doesn’t take the inequality

Of the situation,

Out of the equation…

It simply puts

‘My’ thoughts at Bay!

But surely as I live, love and breathe

I’m grateful I can pick a pen

‘UP,’

In my hand

And write down what I want,

My soul’s demands

Letting out what’s driving ‘Me Mad!’

A Human

Writes/Rights,

Journey!

After I spent the better part of that Wednesday writing this work out until it was perfect, I then had to type it up! And to be sure I ended the day right, I even made sure I had emailed them both out to someone before I went to bed that day, to mark the insurance that there would be a witness to the record of that day and my work to that effect!

It will never cease to amaze me, how the power of love & holy spirit works just from the soft, subtle promptings that some of us become pretty good at listening to, and how those things work this stuff out for us, even when we don’t know what’s going on?

By the end of that day you can be certain that I was exhausted, inside and out! To be a great creator aka writer takes a lot out of you, but when you are losing a best-friend in the process of expressing all that honesty without knowing what’s happening between your souls well ... that’s a whole different level of hot from the spirit, tired from the work and exhaustion over what ones soul has lost all within that same time frame that there are no actual correct words that can be used to express it!

When I woke up the next day trying to overcome the shock and disbelief of what I had just heard on that ‘Yesterday, Wednesday’ (for me) just before going to sleep, I knew immediately what I needed to do around posting messages on her timeline and talking to the few most important people there were in her life, which of course included finally receiving that phone call from Carlos to confirm the news with me for himself... that I had to of course, knew I needed to seek counsel and relief from the lord in the study of the holy scriptures, from my beloved Women’s Devotional bible!

And sure enough… it didn’t take me long after prayer and my morning bible rituals to find the following scriptures and daily devotional stories to share with everyone on behalf of Nicole and “Her” last thoughts, feelings, love & message to all of us, and well also from me!

So, from the bottom of my heart for my dear Nicole and from the bottom of hers to all of you too, I share these next words!

I re-read the material from my Devotional Bible for both days when all of this was taking place between heaven and earth, and of course … in order, to the effects of both days I found it all so clearly laid out, as it needed to be right on time; so what you are about to hear IS through the Holy Spirit & Jesus and the both of us from Tuesday Oct 7th, & Wednesday Oct 8th in sharing the miracle of Love, the Magic of Heaven and the Power in how All of That Works!

Amen!

Philippians 1: 3-6; 9-11; 20;21

3. “I thank my God every time I remember you. 4. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy, 5. Because of you, your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6. Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

9. And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10. So that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, 11. filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ-to the glory and praise of God.

20. I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed but will have sufficient courage so that now, as always, Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. 21. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain!”

~The Best is Yet to Come! ~

We know that however satisfying our life is here on earth, the best is yet to come.

Consider these comparisons:

1. Here on earth, you can be sure of God’s love. In heaven, you will constantly be basking in that love.

2. Here on earth, you can know you are accepted by God. In heaven, you will hold an honored place as God’s child, sister of Christ.

3. Here on earth, you live by faith. In heaven, you will understand it all and thank God for his wisdom in every little thing.

4. Here on earth, your treasure is pitiful and shabby and falling apart. In heaven, the treasure you stored up is priceless and indestructible.

~ Dare to Dream! ~

Dreams make the difference between living a life and REALLY LIVING a life. But some of us, caught up in the busyness of life, have forgotten how to dream.

Here are some suggestions:

Identify where you want to grow and then start dreaming about possibilities for getting there. Writer Gary Hardaway comments, “We must dream, because we are made in the image of him who sees things that are not and wills them to be.”

Find a quiet spot. Sit back and let your thoughts roam. What has God already done in your life? What might he still do? Consider, just for a moment, what isn’t but could be? Dream beyond where you are.

Dreams begin with asking such questions, as “If you could do anything you wanted with an extra hour today, what would it be?”

Sometimes dreams have their roots in the past. “When you back over your childhood, what did you do with your spare time?

Dreams also peer around the corners of our lives and right into the places where we live, (giving us) clues as to how we can grow.

Identify where you want to grow.

“THEN START DREAMING A DREAM FOR YOUR LIFE and MAKE A PLAN and GET IT DONE, LIVE, For YOURSELVES and FOR ME! THAT’S ALL!”

Love me, Nicole!

In Jesus name,

Amen!

I Love You All!”

The closing scriptures to go with this second day are as follows:

Philippians 2: 1-3 (4&5 bonus words); 2:12 (14 &15 key points)-18! Philippians 4: 4-7 ; 4: 8-9!

2:1-3

1.“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the spirit, if any tenderness and compassion,

2. Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.

3. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves!”

2:12-18

12. “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed-not only in my presence but now much more in my absence-continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,

13. For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

14. Do everything without complaining or arguing,

15. so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe.

16. as you hold out the word of life - in order that I may boast on that day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing,

17. But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.

18. So, you too should be glad and rejoice with me!”

4: 4 -7; 8-9!

4. “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

5. Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

6. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

7. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

8. “And finally, with all my love, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is praiseworthy – think about such things.

9. Whatever you have learned or received from knowing me, and seen in me, (my heart) … put this into practice in your lives. And the God of Peace will be with all of you to!”

And I end all these words as a prayer and testimony in a Celebration Of Life in honoring someone very important to me that has changed my life forever, and will never be forgotten, and will remain within the knit of the fibers of my DNA, my very being and essence of soul until we are re-united! She mattered in this world, she mattered in this life, she left a mark on everyone whose life hers entered!

May we find a way to draw nearer to one another and live closer to the words in the scriptures and poems shared here today; to learn from this unexpected, tragic event in losing someone from our lives we all cared about far too young and far too soon, in how to do better for one another moving forward from here as she is asking us to!

In finding our way to that place, that New Beginnings’ where our Nicole has now transitioned over to and where she waits, leaving a Blazing Path of Light and Glory for us to follow her shining star too!

“Fly with the Butterflies and Angel’s Nicole, you are now Free, and I will see you again soon in perfect form in the next life in the New World of the New Beginnings to Come!”

I Love you too!

Love,

Jennifer!

In Jesus name,

Amen!
