Why Network-Marketing won't be the future

"The business of the 21st century" - currently experiencing a boom?

By now, most people are familiar with the term "Network Marketing", or at least have heard of it. Offering the possibility to "create your own business", Network-Marketing, or Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM), has made a name for itself as one of the biggest Money-Generators of the current century. But how long will this system be relevant? Will it surpass everything else in the next years? Or will it just disappear and never come back?

Speaking of my own experience - yes, earning money through MLM does indeed work! If you put a certain amount of effort into it - just like in every other profession or business.

Network-Marketing people are excellent in one thing, selling you the idea that you need this system. They're not selling you the system or product directly, but by getting to know you better and seeing things from the reader's perspective, they can ultimately make you think that you need it.

You basically have a job there, or two, depending on the MLM-business. On one hand you're a distributor for the company, selling their products or services to other costumers, without the hierarchy of the actual system ever coming to word. On the other hand, you are selling the system directly to other people, telling them how it works, what you have to do if you want to join, and how you can increase your fixed income.

Again, depending on the company, you either have to pay a monthly contribution to stay inside the system, or you buy their products or service instructions one time to start and maintain your membership.

Having gone through both of these procedures, I can tell you both have their pros and cons. However, in the case of the first mentioned company, these monthly payments can take a long time to amortize, no matter if it's through selling the company's products or by getting new people into the scheme and creating further downlines. The rich get richer and the poor... slowly get richer, with the potential of being as rich one day.

While it may take months or years to get into a well paid position, it is still a better way than most jobs nowadays, as you can't go any higher once you've reached a certain position there. In MLM-businesses however - the sky is one level, all further limits are yet to be discovered. But you have to keep in mind that, maybe if it's just at the start, you'll probably have to work up to 40 hours per week to reach certain goals.

That's what most instructors or so called "uplines" won't necessarily tell you on the first meeting. In order to be financially independent, you still have to work hard, there is no way around it. Still, fortunately, I had the advantage that my uplines didn't pressure or force me into anything. If someone is in your current team, you should probably consider a change to a different team.

Someone will always earn something trough you, whether you're doing MLM or just a regular 9-to-5 job. There are over a thousand ways to earn money, Network-Marketing is one of them. And just like other systems, jobs and professions, MLM is not the next big thing.

It won't be the one solution to all of mankind's problems, it will just stay there, available for everyone, maybe falling into the background someday as well. A massive boom for it? - ain't gonna to happen.
