When a contestant left the dating competition without explanation on the Feb. 10 episode, fans of the show were left with a great deal of unanswered questions. What really happened is something she's now opening up about.

Beverly Ortega, a 30-year-old insurance salesperson, one of the contestants, with Grant Ellis, an all-new date carted away early in this episode. After that, she suddenly left before her date could happen.

Later in the show, another contestant, Parisa Shifteh, briefly mentioned Ortega's exit during a confessional interview.

“I think today was supposed to be Beverly's one-on-one with Grant. But yesterday morning she was a tad bit sick, I think. And today we found out she will not be returning to the house,” Shifteh said. After some time in the show, Ellis invited three other women for a more intimate group date. About Ortega's exit, she referenced the fact that she had to leave for home.

Ortega introduced a story about her departure via her Instagram: on February 10, she stated, "So many questions coming in about why I had to leave." Then, she explained to the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast, which is hosted by Bachelor Nation alumnis-couples-turned-happily-married, Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt.

Why Did Beverly Leave The Bachelor?

Beverly Ortega left The Bachelor due to a medical emergency. She woke up feeling unwell, experiencing severe stomach pain, and had been vomiting for 12 hours.

She thought, at first, it was food poisoning, but doctors decided after seeing her at the hospital that she had appendicitis and needed surgery. She had to be taken in for an emergency procedure, which made it unsafe for her to continue on the show.

Beverly underwent her surgery in California because travel back to her home in New York was impossible. She was kind to have a compassionate moment with her mother, who flew in to escort her home.

The ordeal did take its punishment on her emotionally, which she badly needed to come to terms with. She wished she hadn't left because she had started to bond with Ellis-but she really did know her health was more important than any relationship.

How Beverly’s Emergency Surgery Cut Her Bachelor Journey Short

Beverly was on "The Bachelor" with Peter. Things were going pretty well; then, all of a sudden, she was gone because of emergency surgery. This was a big deal for her. She had come to find love on that show, and now it wouldn't happen for her. This must have really made her feel bad.

Her exit changed the dynamics for other women on the show. The difference of one made all the difference. Either friendships changed, or some women might get lucky. Such an addition made everyone look at how things can turn in a split second. Games weren't for fun anymore; it was the reminder that real lives can be a bit comfortable or not.

Peter might have felt sorry, too. He seemed inclined to appreciate Beverly. He would have to return to the one departed and focus on the other women still remaining. Beverly's surgery and exit from the show were a perfect reminder that unanticipated things can happen even on TV.

Will Beverly Return to Bachelor?

The question of whether Beverly will return to the "Bachelor" franchise must have troubled the minds of many viewers. While it does not seem possible for a return during Peter Weber's season, she might return for the next season which could be "Bachelor in Paradise."

The decision will be influenced by various aspects. Firstly, the health of Beverly is the most important. Her health comes first and foremost, and any decision would primarily depend on her state of recovery and whether she felt fit to cope with the rigors of filming. Next will be her personal life and relationship. If she finds happiness and life away from the show, then there won't be a need to return.

Then lastly, the producers of "The Bachelor" franchise would be another factor. Given her story and potential audience interest, they might want her back. But they have to factor in availability, logistics of casting, and overall direction for future seasons. Ultimately, whether Beverly returns or not depends on her choice, health considerations, and the show's producer's will. Although not impossible, it's also not guaranteed. Fans will have to wait and see if Beverly's time with "The Bachelor" has indeed drawn to a close, or there's another chapter left to write.
