What is my job?
Am I an artist? I did a Foundation Arts Degree Course for a year, and I loved every minute of it. I got to experiment and do things that I wouldn’t have been able to without my Art Bursary otherwise. I made an art Instagram, took breaks from it because Social Media, in general, was making me anxious, and opened an Etsy Shop, which didn’t lead to much. Due to the anxiety, as mentioned earlier, I stopped posting; that fire to create, which I had during the Art Course, has died down to the point where I can’t feel inspired anymore. There’s no doubt that Art, in any form, can make an impact on the world. Mine just never did.
Am I a writer? I discovered Vocal one day while on Instagram and became intrigued. I wrote two stories and left it alone for a few months before deciding to give it another go, this time with more enthusiasm. Like I said above, Literature can most definitely impact the world, but my writing is in its infancy right now. Yes, I can do many authentic pieces that I quite like, but my fiction needs a lot of work to make it seem less like a child writing it. The work I currently have out hasn’t reached many people, which of course, I expected, though I have a total of 3 likes now. It might not seem like a lot, but it means the world because something I wrote inspired a reader to hit the cute little heart button.
Am I a Customer Assistant? Since I’ve decided not to go to university to pursue more Creative paths in life, I have a full-time job to pay for whatever expenses I need. I work at a well-known UK Company which has many superstores located across the country. The smaller shop where I work is local. Every day, I walk to and from work to be healthier, both to myself and to the environment. Sometimes my Dad joins me, and we chat about the most random things, something very welcoming to me.
While at work, I interact with many different kinds of customers. Some want to get in, get what they need, and get out. They have no time to talk, and I respect their haste, especially on the busier days. Some ask me how I am, and to be polite, I do the same. A lot of the time, I get the basic “I’m fine, thanks,” and life goes on. Rarely do I get someone being honest. These types of people tell me that they’re tired or stressed, and as a result, I make it my job to try and alleviate that by being as helpful as I can. The job overall is a nice one. It pays well for what it is, the other people who work there are kind to me, and most of the time, the customers are delightful.
Does my job make an impact on the world?
I don’t know. The company, being as big as it is, has many different branches. In general, the role of “Customer Assistant” impacts the world by helping provide customers with various services. But that’s just one interpretation.
What does my job do to impact the world? Mine specifically. With every customer I talk to, every bag I pack, and every problem I solve, I make an impression. This impression has the power to make or break someone’s day, and I’ll be damned if I don’t try my hardest to do the former. Naturally, I’m a polite person, but I tend to bump it up to eleven when on the till. Even though they can’t see through my mask, I smile, and I make small talk where appropriate. There have been a small handful of customers who tell me that I’ve done an excellent job and that I’ve helped them out enough for them to show genuine gratitude.
That is why I love my job. If I can help someone out, then I feel as though I have done something truly remarkable. Making another person happy is something I’ve always aspired to do, and with my job, I can finally accomplish this goal.
Maybe I don’t have such a significant impact on the world, it is a pretty big place, but I’d take impacting the people who inhabit it any day.

Hi!
After years of no writing I've decided to give it a go again and see what path it takes me down. I've always had a love for literature, and I'm looking forward to learning all sorts of new things along the way~
