Washington’s of Shit Still

When egos can overshadows the really important problems

A POV of the US Capitol in Washington DC

👋🏾 Its EDB, that’s Erik DeSean Barrett, and I join with the excitement of the world. We are dancing in the proverbial streets. We finally know. Damar Hamlin, forever declared as the toughest son of a bitch in football, will be ok. NOW, for those who are feeling some kind of way; anytime, a dude, damn near dies, still cannot breathe on his own, and physically weak ASF, yet the first thing on his mind, Did We win Game? That’s one tough son of a Bitch!!

I tell you what!! Let’s not call him an SOB… His momma deserves better, my bad. How about we settle on us just being the GOAT..

Speaking of GOATS. We have the GOAT of being defeated. Kevin McCarthy from the great state of California, we’ll talk about that in a moment, still has his feet planted on the grounds that he, and he alone is deserving of being house speaker.

The House has adjourned for the third day without electing a new speaker after Kevin McCarthy continued to suffer a string of defeats in multiple rounds of voting on Thursday. As the fight for the gavel drags on, it has now become the longest speaker contest in 164 years. Each failed vote only increases pressure on McCarthy to end the impasse, but it is unclear whether he will be able to pull it off as the situation grows increasingly dire for his future political prospects. Even after proposing major concessions to his hardline conservative opponents late Wednesday, the California Republican has still not yet been able to lock in the 218 votes he needs to win the gavel.

"So if this takes a little longer and it doesn't meet your deadline, that's OK, It's all going to be this way until an agreement comes. It's easier if we're able to all get an agreement together. And After I win, I'm not afraid. ... I won't be a weaker speaker”

That‘s right Kevin, Never you mind this is holding up the congress from conducting the people’s business, Never you mind, the effects it will have economically on the country as a whole, you‘re gonna stick to your guns, and until elected the next Speaker come hell, or Highwater.

Speaking of Highwater, Are you from California? I am sure you know much of California was lashed with heavy rain and damaging winds Wednesday and Thursday that flooded roads, toppled trees and knocked out power to most across the state. Its ok now, well for now, the daytime Friday will bring some relief, but once the sunsets, its game one part 3. By Saturday night into early Sunday, heavy rain is expected shift toward central California, the forecasters said. 60,000, that‘s the number Kevin. That is how many homes and businesses are still in the dark. And its not over. Over the coming weekend, "additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches, with locally higher totals forecast for northern California will likely exacerbate flooding concerns over already saturated soil," the weather service warned.

Let‘s talk effects Kev.

A young child -- about age 1 or 2 -- was killed Wednesday after a redwood tree fell on a home in Sonoma County in Northern California.

  1. STEVEN SAMPSON: of McAlester, Oklahoma, was reported washed off Dillard Road near Highway 99 in south Sacramento County during the New Year’s Eve storm. He was found dead in his submerged vehicle Jan. 1. Sampson was 45.
  2. MEI KENG LAM: of San Leandro was found Wednesday near her flooded car, several yards off Dillard Road. Her daughter-in-law said on Instagram that she went missing during the storm on New Year’s Eve; she said the family had tried tracking her phone, which gave them a location near Elk Grove, and the phone lost signal after that. Lam was 57.
  3. GARY YULES: 72, died just a few days after his birthday when a cypress tree fell on him at Lighthouse Field State Beach in Santa Cruz in the afternoon on New Year’s Eve. He was a retired certified public accountant.
  4. KATHERINE MARTINEZ: of Orland was found Wednesday off of New Hope Road, which had flooded. She was in a submerged vehicle. Martinez was 61.
  5. A SOLANO COUNTY TEEN: A 19-year-old woman died in a car crash in Fairfield Wednesday evening. KRON 4 reported that the woman was driving a little after 8:30 p.m. on Vanden Road, which was partially flooded, when she hydroplaned into a utility pole at One Lake.
  6. AEON TOCCHINI: 2, died Wednesday when a redwood tree fell directly on the double-wide trailer where he lived in Occidental. As the Press-Democrat reported, Tocchini was sitting on the couch when the tree came crashing down.

“He was the joy of our family. He loved to dance and shined like the sun. He represented something to our family, and it was like hope to us,” Liz Haskins, Aunt.

He was the Joy. I wonder how many people can say that about me? Am I doing my best to make sure I am the best, in others world? I ran for office, loss, but does that mean I can’t still make a difference? And to those in power, not just in Washington, but Norfolk, Chesterfield, Richmond, and Georgia, What are we all doing, to make this world better?

Thats what I am thinking about...

I leave you with this track, by 32 stitches & GNDHI, (featuring J. Fitz) “Wish You The Best”
