Tips for Relocating Your Office
Tips for When You're Moving to a New Office Space

Relocating your office can be one of the most stressful activities to happen, but sometimes it’s got to be done. It’s a task that requires careful planning and preparation. The best way to go about it is assigning jobs, prioritising what has to be done and planning when everything should be sorted. It is definitely not something that you can just wing! Starting the process early and listening to our 6 tips will ensure you have a smooth and more successful move.
1. Plan
This couldn’t be more important! Create a timeline of when everything is going to happen, from packing your old office to moving it to the new office and make sure you give enough time for every task. No one likes to be rushed and it just causes more people to be stressed. Planning as early as possible and ensuring everyone knows what is happening will make for a smoother ride.
2. Communicate
Make sure all your employees are up to date with the move and its progress. Not only will this help make the whole move more organised, but it can also point out any flaws or worries that employees might have. Communication is key if you want to make the move less stressful.
3. Change Addresses
Make a list of all the documents, cards and envelopes that will need address changes. It is so easy to forget about the little things and it could lead to you missing out on some serious business.
4. Check out the new office
Before fully moving into our new office, make sure you check with the agent that everything is working, whether that’s the bulbs, the water, the heating – anything and everything. Go through all the necessities to ensure that everyone will be comfortable when they arrive and, more importantly, people won’t freeze to death because you forgot to check if the heating works!
5. Make sure WIFI works
The majority of us need WIFI to carry on with our work, so make sure that, before you move everyone into the new office, the WIFI is all set up and working. WIFI can sometimes take ages to sort out, especially if you’re moving into a new building. It is definitely something that you want to plan ahead of time.
6. Determine Your Budget
More often than not, when a company moves, they’re usually moving to a bigger office and it will probably be a lot different from the previous one. This could mean that you’re on a budget – hiring moving companies and everything is pricey as it is, not to mention all the extra furniture you might need. Fortunately, Coggin Group provide recyclable furniture for all companies which means you can get nice and comfortable pieces for a fraction of the price!
- We understand that this seems like a huge task to take on, but don’t forget, you don’t have to sort everything out by yourself. Fortunately, there are hundreds of tools that are at your disposal to help make your move that much easier.
- Hubble has a range of advisor which help you throughout your move. They will help you find the perfect office space, negotiate the best deal for your company and help you move into your new location! Relocating does not have to be as stressful as everyone makes it out to be. Providing you plan ahead and get the help that you need, your move will go smoothly…maybe with a little bit of stress.
