These ChatGPT Prompts Created My First Digital Product

7 Steps to an Offer I’m Ready to Sell

By Alex TuckerPublished 27 days ago 4 min read

AI tools can make so much of what we do online more efficient, but only with the right prompts. I used these 7+ ChatGPT to create my first digital product and generate new marketing ideas.

ChatGPT’s language model is particularly effective at crafting compelling marketing content, but these prompts will work with any chat-based AI assistant like Gemini, Claude, or Grok.

Why ChatGPT for Marketing?

In my experience ChatGPT is still one of the best LLM tools when it comes to writing marketing copy. This makes sense, because the original GPT models were primarily used for writing headlines and short copy (they couldn’t handle much else).

What do you need the most help with in your business right now? There might be a prompt for that.

The 7 ChatGPT Prompts for Business Growth

The goal here is to efficiently transform your initial business idea into a concrete, marketable product (MVP) and a low-cost strategy for validation.

1. Niche Hunting (Two-Step Prompt)

This prompt helps you pinpoint the most receptive audience for your product.

Step 1: Provide ChatGPT with a product description and name (or business type and name). For example, I used “holistic wellness digital products.”

Step 2: Ask ChatGPT to generate a list of potential niches, grouped by core problem, demographics, or dominant interest.

ChatGPT will provide a range of niches, such as “burned-out professionals” or “self-care enthusiasts.”

Refining Your Niche

To narrow down the best niche for your growth goals, add this refining prompt: “Score each group (out of 10) for ease of selling low and high-ticket products online, with explanations for each score.”

ChatGPT might score “healing-focused women” higher than “burned-out professionals,” providing valuable insights into market viability. Other potentially high-scoring groups often include spiritual explorers, those suffering from chronic stress/anxiety, personal development enthusiasts, creatives/entrepreneurs, and self-care enthusiasts.

2. Customer Avatar Creation

The next step is to create a detailed customer avatar by combining the traits of your top three highest-scoring groups. In our example, these were healing-focused women, creatives/entrepreneurs, and burned-out professionals.

Modify the prompt to combine these traits. ChatGPT can then create a highly specific avatar like the “Awakening Achiever”: a high-achieving, emotionally self-aware woman (late 20s-40s) seeking healing and support.

The avatar will include demographics, psychographics (aspirations, pain points, desires), buyer motivations, personality traits, and core behaviors, making your marketing highly targeted.

3. MVP (Minimum Viable Product) Development

An MVP is a product you can create quickly and economically to validate your business idea and attract initial buyers.

Prompt ChatGPT for five MVPs under $50, selling for $5-$50, to attract customers for your high-ticket products. Modify the prompt to focus on selling specifically to your defined avatar, courses, and coaching programs.

ChatGPT might suggest targeted ideas like a Nervous System Reset kit, an Emotional Healing challenge, a Creative Clarity workbook, a Burnout to Balance audio course, or a Ritual Reset deck.

4. Bonus Generator Prompt

Use this prompt to instantly generate high-value assets to increase your product’s perceived value and conversion rate:

“Write a list of additional digital products I can offer customers as a bonus for purchasing my main product.”

ChatGPT might suggest journal prompts, short audio sessions, printable affirmations, checklists, or a resource library.

Selling ebooks and PDFs remains highly effective. Use a tool like Designer (review link in the description) to create high-value PDFs and ebooks easily. Remember, the value and presentation of the digital asset are key to success.

5. No-Cost Marketing Campaign Prompt

This prompt allows you to specify a budget, or lack thereof.

Try this: “List five marketing campaigns to promote [Your Product — e.g., Nervous System Reset Kit], prioritizing no cost, little time/effort/skill.”

ChatGPT will likely suggest practical, organic strategies such as targeted social media marketing, lead magnets, sharing personal stories (narrative marketing), collaboration with micro-influencers, community engagement, and consistent value drops.

Social Media & Lead Magnets: Many successful businesses rely solely on organic social media traffic directed to a lead magnet, which builds a valuable email list for selling digital products and affiliate links.

Reliable social media posting and dedicated email marketing are crucial. Email marketing is especially important for selling digital products worldwide inexpensively and directly.

6. Long-Form Content Creation

Don’t limit yourself to social media snippets. Consider leveraging long-form content on platforms like Medium, Vocal, or video/podcast channels.

Use a simple prompt to draft a short article with AI. You can then rewrite and edit the article to authentically reflect your own experiences and voice, turning AI output into high-quality, engaging content. With the right prompts, this requires 50% less time spent typing.

7. Headline Optimization

Headline optimization is essential for attracting clicks and maximizing your conversion rate (CTR).

Use this powerful prompt: “Write 10 conversion-optimized headlines for [Your Article] in a table. Column A: headline, Column B: clickability score (out of 100).” Order the table with the highest scores first.

I often have AI write headlines, then improve them, and then try to beat AI’s best efforts. AI tools like ChatGPT are so powerful that they can make us lazy. To keep my mind sharp, I always improve upon and personalize the outputs.
