I will begin by saying that I am not writer, I am an artist so please bear that in mind when reading this.
So here is the story of how we lost one house and have been struggling to get another.
In June of 2021, I heard about this stock (MMAT) and started looking at it closely. The more I looked into the company the more I liked the company, so I took a small stake in the company and shortly after that the company gave out a perferred share (MMTLP). I thought this would be great to have, it was a bonus.
At about the same time, my girlfriend's ex-husband had decided after 10 years of trying to make her life miserable, he would file a suit against to her to take her home, which we both lived in, away from her. It was never supposed to be his to begin with.
We tried to get an attorney to help us but because we live in rural town there was not a lot of attorneys to pick from. I spent day after day calling each one and was turned down by each of them. We finally were left with no other option but to deal with this on our own.
I documented everything and submitted it to the court myself. I am not a legal expert but I did my best. Some of the documents proved that were too many questions about the owner ship of the house. We requested and demanded to see the paperwork on the house but the judge and the attorney ignored everything.
At the end of August we went to court for a final decision.
That did not go well at all. The attorney was not willing to negotiate and the judge would not listen to anything we had to say.
We lost the house.
To make a long story short. On December 1st 2021, left with no options. I was not willing to abandon my property or leave our Rottiweilers behind to move into an apartment. We would not be able to afford an apartment and be able to get a new house without taking out a loan. We didn't want to do that. It would put us underwater.
So, we moved into my workshop, a 14 x x 28 shed.
We moved only what we needed with us and boxed up everything else. We had electricity but there was no indoor plumbing in the shed because it was meant to be used as workshop. I had to set up a make shift bathroom, with an outdoor shower using a camping style water heater.
We spent 2022 trying to get everything set for a new house but life has slowed us down. We spent what money we had to get 2 16 x 40 sheds with the plan of putting them back to back and making that our home. What money we had left has gone towards leveling the land so we can put the 2 shed on a cement slab that way we never have to worry about them sinking into the ground.
In December of this past year, MMTLP was to be finalized and we had a choice of either selling our shares or keeping them and receiving a 1:1 swap into NBH. We were ready to trade when all of a sudden FINRA decided to use a U3 halt. All because FINRA hadn't enforced their own rule on "Naked" short selling, (If you are not aware of what this, please look into it.) they had created a problem so big that not even they knew how to resolve it. They basically took away everyone's right to trade by halting it 2 days early.
Not to mention that they ignored the S-1 filing and never forced anyone with short to position to close their positions.
Since December we having been waiting for FINRA to do something so we could hopefully sell them and be able to get enough money to pour our slab.
We have lived and struggled for long enough with a proper bathroom, a kitchen and laundry room.
We still have faith and believe that it won't be much longer before we can set up our new home and begin to making into our dream home. We are not people who drive new cars and live in a big home. We live a simple and we are very happy with it that way.
If you have read this entirely, then look into MMTLP and the story behind it. I am one of 65,000 shares who were robbed of our right to sell our shares, or to get it exchanged. Right now we are all left limbo and there are thousands like myself who are struggling.
