Nowadays, most often, the transport is less frequent by bicycle, and more by car, motorcycle, bus, tram, subway, etc. Few people go ahead in traffic, whether they go shopping or work, by bike.

The inventors of the bicycle are said to have been Pierre and Ernest Michaux in the 1860s. Although there used to be two-wheeled vehicles that resembled bicycles, historians believe that Michaux's father and son first introduced the modern bicycle with pedals and cranks. in 1861. Also in the 19th century, bicycles were put into circulation on a large scale, in different regions, as the main mode of transport.

Most people start cycling as a child, which is very beneficial especially in terms of health, as it helps them to develop harmoniously physically. However, as they get older, they can get their license, giving up bicycles in favor of cars and motorcycles.

Today there are more than a billion bicycles worldwide, and their number is growing. The reasons why cycling is beneficial and preferable to riding other vehicles are many. These include physical health benefits, which can help improve heart condition, flexibility, calorie-burning, increased stamina, and increased endurance. Other benefits are emotional and mental.

Any physical activity, especially cycling, helps to release endorphins in the body, one of the diseases that can be successful in preventing or treating depression.

Another good part of cycling is that it does not pollute and helps to preserve the environment for both us and future generations. It has zero carbon emissions and does not even pollute noise, as do other means of transport that have an engine. Also, unlike other sports, cycling is much cheaper.

All you need is a bicycle and protective equipment, and they don't have to be extremely expensive. Unlike cars and other vehicles, the bike does not need money every day to go with it somewhere, because it does not need gasoline, gas, diesel, or anything else, but only a healthy pair of legs.

There is no need to cycle for hours every day, a few minutes a day are enough, about half an hour outdoors is more than enough to keep us healthy.

There are many possibilities and many options when it comes to choosing the perfect bike for you. Thus, the choice of bike depends on what you want to do (if you want to do performance sports) and where you want to go (if only where it is paved or on more difficult terrain). For example, for difficult terrain, bicycles called mountain bikes are used, and for asphalt, other types of bicycles are used. Asphalt bikes are faster, lighter, and have thinner wheels.

Mountain bikes are specially designed to be more durable and have bigger and thicker wheels, they also have a heavier weight. This type of bike has different accessories, but most often there is that accessory used for storing water bottles, positioned under the handlebars and above the pedals.

And bicycles, like everything else, come in different sizes, which means that when you want to buy one, you will have to try it on. You have to consider your height and weight when choosing a bike, so whether you are pedaling or standing still, your feet should reach the pedals and be on the ground without you feeling uncomfortable.

If this is not suitable for you, it will be difficult for you to walk very long distances, and over time your shoulders will feel discomfort after many hours of sitting in an abnormal position. As for protective equipment, it is good to have a helmet, knee pads, and armrests. For mountain biking, you will also need gloves and goggles. If you like to drive at night, it is advisable to have LEDs or a reflective vest, and don't forget the horn, which can also help you.

If you do not have space in your house or a garage to keep it, there is always the option of a folding bike, another advantage being the fact that you will be able to take it with you on trips and longer trips. This type of bike is very easy to fold and you can store it anywhere, especially since it takes up very little space. Some also come with a bag in which they can be put, stored, and transported.

No matter what type of bike you choose, you can be sure that you will not regret it because cycling has many advantages and too few or insignificant disadvantages. It will help you stay healthier, happier and have an occupation that does not harm the environment or those around you.
