The Day I Realized My Money Blocks Weren’t About Money
Psychologist Carl Jung once said, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
It happened on a random Tuesday afternoon, sitting in front of my laptop with a half-drunk cup of coffee and a spreadsheet that made me feel both powerful and powerless at once. I was reviewing my income for the month — the invoices, the sales, the little wins. On paper, things looked “fine.” Yet, inside, I felt this knot in my chest that whispered, it’s still not enough.
That voice had been there for years — the one that measured my worth in digits. It wasn’t loud, but it was steady, shaping every decision I made in business. Every time I’d hit a new milestone, the feeling of safety lasted about five minutes before the next wave of fear arrived. “What if it dries up?” “What if I can’t maintain it?” “What if this is the last good month?”
That day, something inside me broke open — not from failure, but from exhaustion. I was tired of living as if my nervous system needed proof before it could rest. That’s when I realized: my money blocks weren’t really about money. They were about safety.
The Illusion of “More”
For most women entrepreneurs, especially those of us who built something from scratch, money becomes a symbol. It represents freedom, validation, and security — everything we were told not to expect unless someone else provided it for us.
We chase numbers like they’re the solution to an inner emptiness. Yet, when “more” finally comes, it doesn’t land. The nervous system, still wired for survival, doesn’t recognize abundance. It only recognizes familiarity.
And if what’s familiar is scarcity, anxiety, or the fear of losing it all — then that’s what the body clings to.
Psychologist Carl Jung once said, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” That quote lived in my journal for months before I finally understood it in my bones.
My fate wasn’t being shaped by money itself — it was being shaped by the old stories I believed about what money meant.
What I Discovered Beneath the Numbers
When I started looking deeper, I realized my “money blocks” were coded messages from my nervous system:
• The fear of charging more? It wasn’t about greed — it was about fear of rejection.
• The impulse to overdeliver? It wasn’t generosity — it was a nervous system seeking approval.
• The guilt around success? That was inherited conditioning — centuries of women told to dim their light for comfort’s sake.
The moment I started listening with compassion instead of judgment, everything softened.
Money, after all, is just energy — a mirror reflecting our sense of safety, worthiness, and expansion. When the body doesn’t feel safe, the energy doesn’t flow.
That’s when energetic alignment comes in — not as a buzzword, but as a practice of nervous system regulation. When we train our bodies to feel safe in abundance, money stops being an external chase and starts being an internal calibration.
Reprogramming the Subconscious
I began doing something radically simple: before looking at my Stripe dashboard or client numbers, I’d place a hand over my heart and whisper, I’m safe, even before I know the outcome.
At first, it felt silly — too soft for a “business strategy.” But that small ritual began to rewire something. My nervous system started to decouple safety from certainty. I didn’t need to know that more was coming; I just needed to trust that I could hold it when it did.
The subconscious mind doesn’t respond to logic — it responds to repetition and feeling. So I started feeding it new stories.
Stories like:
- I can earn without proving my worth.
- Ease is productive.
- I don’t have to struggle to be deserving.
Slowly, my outer reality began to mirror that inner shift. I stopped launching from fear and started creating from overflow. My content resonated more deeply. My offers felt aligned, not forced. And money began to flow with less resistance — not because I worked harder, but because I stopped tightening every time it came near.
When the Nervous System Trusts Abundance
The real transformation wasn’t about strategy — it was about safety. My body had to learn that peace wasn’t laziness, that success didn’t mean loss, and that rest didn’t mean everything would collapse.
Abundance isn’t created through spreadsheets and affirmations alone — it’s sustained when the body feels safe enough to hold more joy, more wealth, and more love without flinching.
That’s the real work: creating safety within so that abundance has a home to land in.
Because here’s the truth — money doesn’t expand you. It amplifies the energy you already hold.
The Release
When I finally faced the truth that my scarcity wasn’t financial — it was emotional — I cried. Not because I was sad, but because I finally understood that the part of me that hoarded, that feared, that chased — she was just trying to keep me safe.
So, I stopped fighting her. I stopped shaming her. I started soothing her.
It’s safe to receive.
It’s safe to rest.
It’s safe to be seen.
That’s the moment I began living as if I already was the woman I wanted to become — calm, clear, and worthy. Not because I had more, but because I trusted myself to hold more.
Final Reflection
If you’ve been wondering why money feels so charged — why it never feels like “enough,” or why you freeze when things get good — I want you to know this: it’s not about the numbers. It’s about the nervous system that never learned what safety in abundance feels like.
When you reprogram that — through awareness, compassion, and embodiment — you’ll stop chasing money and start becoming the energy that attracts it.
Abundance is not earned. It’s allowed.
“You are not required to prove your worthiness. You are required to remember it.”
That’s the work we do when we release our money blocks — we return home to safety, ease, and our natural abundance.
