Seaxwolf Jewelry is Made With Magic
The Seaxwolf luxury handcrafted jewelry brand is born out of a love for making beautiful, functional and durable design that people love to wear every day.
Xcott is witty and playful, athletic and talented, generous and giving. He is always looking for ways he can serve and support his community.
The man who makes your jewelry is a true alchemist because he has turned his adversities into servants. Even in making jewelry his goal is to serve people by making them feel delicious, beautiful and worthy of luxury. He wants to make people happy and that is what he does.
Each time he sets out to make a new chain, his goal is to create something of superior quality, beauty and durability that people will love. And they do. People who pick up the jewelry can see the love, time, skill and thoughtful attention to detail that is poured into each chain.
The magic quality of each piece of Seaxwolf jewelry probably comes from the amount of love and joy in the making process that goes into each chain, just as much as it does the smooth liquid feel of perfectly cut and hand-turned ‘moon metal.’
Seaxwolf (pronounced “Sea Wolf”) Jewelry Designs was founded by an artist and mariner living in Rockville, Maryland. Xcott Wolf has always held a deep appreciation for beautiful, durable and functional design. He’s a highly skilled craftsman, generous soul and lover of all creatures small.
He gives generously of his time, teaching others the skills that he has honed in jewelry making, cycling, knot tying, and the many other things that he does well with grace, humility and ingenuity.
Xcott and his partner Lyana enjoy watching people transform as they pick up and handle a Seaxwolf chain. Together, they handcraft each luxury bracelet, necklace, earring and ring-ring out of solid sterling silver links that they make themselves in a workshop that’s based out of an art collective in Rockville, Maryland.
And they only create when in a deliberate creation mentality, so every piece brings with it to its owner, the love with which it was made. That may be why many people choose to wear their Seaxwolf chains as signature pieces, every single day.
The romance of silver: why it makes people feel good.
For thousands of years, cultures around the world have known that silver has healing benefits. This precious metal was used in ancient Greece and Rome for treating infections, and is still used today in medicine due to its antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. So when people drape a piece of silver jewelry over their wrist or around their neck, they are quite literally wearing a healing form of protection.

There are other reasons why silver feels good though. This light reflecting metal is associated with the moon (just as gold is tied to the sun), and is believed to be a mystical and metaphysical element that carries the capacity to enhance love and romance. Silver has been used in rituals and worship by ancient and modern cultures alike. It’s the metal of emotions and the bearer of safety. It’s smooth liquid shine reminds one of a glowing white reflection of light on the water in moonlight.
What makes Seaxwolf silver so different
Seaxwolf jewelry is made with love and a desire that each chain bring the wearer happiness. Always striving for perfection, Xcott continues to hone the handmade process to create jewelry that feels and looks amazing.
Solid Silver: Many jewelers create their jewelry using hollow wire, because it’s light and less expensive than solid wire. All Seaxwolf jewelry is made to be sturdy; stand up to being worn every day while living life. That’s why they only use solid sterling silver wire for their handcrafted chains and clasps.
Handmade Links: They cut their own jump rings before hand turning each one so they can ensure that each closed ring is seamless, and then put every piece through three stages of polishing so that the jewelry comes out feeling smooth as glass.
The Luxurious Feel: While images of Seaxwolf jewelry show its beauty and luster, it’s when customers pick up a chain—feeling its presence—that they involuntarily say, “wow.” The feel of each bracelet and necklace is liquid smooth and the weight of every piece is evidence of the solid sterling silver investment in their hand.
Unlike many jewelers, Seaxwolf offers lifetime repairs. They call it a “timelessly happy jewelry policy.” Xcott and Lyana want people to love their jewelry for many years, and hand them down as heirloom pieces, so they stand behind their product.
From captain to jewelry maker
Living in Monterey, California, Xcott worked as a dive instructor and tour guide for underwater enthusiasts and nationally known videographers. While working on boats, he earned his 10-ton Captain’s license and became skilled not only with boats and diving, but also working with lines, chains and knots. He also learned how to manufacture things by hand quickly that were functional, sturdy and neat—in large numbers.

These skills would serve him well when he went into business creating jewelry that needed to be creative and beautiful, but also durable because many people like to wear their Seaxwolf chains every day.
Born into an artistic family, Xcott took a jewelry making class during college and immediately fell in love with the Byzantine design. Over 20 years ago, Xcott made and wore his first Byzantine bracelet. First friends and then acquaintances began asking Xcott if he could make one for them too. In the beginning, he was giving them away because that’s the kind of generous man Xcott is.
Eventually, he began selling his Byzantine chains, and over time has honed his processes so that what used to take days now only takes hours. He still sells his signature Byzantine, but has added many other unique designs to the Seaxwolf chain collection, and continues to create new designs each year.
Serving in his community
In 2010, after living in beautiful Monterey for 22 years, Xcott moved back to Maryland to be close to his family. He especially wanted to be near his mom, a beautiful woman who is adept at astrology, full of humor and generous like her son.
Xcott loves to be of service and is always the first one to volunteer when he notices something needs to be done. In the art community where the Seaxwolf workshop resides, he puts service first—always jumping in to help.
When one of his yoga teachers broke her foot he brought fun, colorful stickers to the early morning class so that all of the students could decorate her boot—a joyful activity that his teacher also engaged in with sheer delight.

Xcott loves to cook and share his wonderful dishes with grateful friends, family and neighbors. His vegan and gluten-free curry quinoa casserole, for instance, is always requested at gatherings and functions, and the container it arrives in always comes home empty.
He’s great with animals, reverent in nature, and cares about the wellbeing of community. He’s also an active athlete and avid calorie-burner: cyclist, mountain biker, day hiker, skier, rock climber, runner, yoga practitioner and martial artist.
Somehow he always finds time for learning new things, making jewelry and helping where he can.

Small business owners like Xcott could use a little love right now too.
