Once upon a time, there was an old couple. Every day, the old man went to the bamboo forest to cut bamboo. At night, he went home to make bamboo baskets with the old woman. When the basket is made, it is sold in the market. They had no children and led a miserable life. One day, the old man went to the bamboo forest to cut bamboo as usual. Chopping, the old father-in-law found a glittering bamboo. The old man carefully cut the bamboo, did not think that there was a lovely baby girl lying in it, so the old man took the baby girl home. The old woman saw the baby girl and said happily, "We must give her a nice name." The old man said, "Since I found her in the bamboo forest, let's call her the Princess of the Bamboo Forest." The couple loved the bamboo forest princess very much. They would rather starve themselves, but also to feed the bamboo forest princess. In a twinkling of an eye, Princess Zhulin grew into a beautiful girl, and many admirers came to her. Although my father-in-law refused again and again, people kept coming. "Why don't you hold a wedding fair and choose a husband?" The old father-in-law offered advice. Princess Zhu Lin agreed. There was a large turnout, and after careful selection, the couple chose five people to take part in the final contest. They were the Minister of Finance, the Minister of War, the Minister of Public Service, the Minister of Inspector General, and the General General. Princess Zhulin said, "Please help me find the Buddha's alms, the golden branches and jade leaves on Penglai Island, the five colored dragon beads on the chest of the Dragon King, the shells in the bird's nest, and the fur made of fire rat fur. I'll marry the one who finds it first." The Chancellor of the Exchequer was the first to act. He posted signs offering a large reward to anyone who could find the beggar. A farmer went to the Chancellor with a begging bowl and said, "This heirloom of mine is the Buddha's begging bowl." The Chancellor of the exchequer hurriedly took his alms and went to see Princess Zhu Lin. The old man took the albata and said, "Buddha's albata has at least one or two thousand years of history, this is clearly false." The Minister of war is going to Penglai Island to find the golden branches and jade leaves. But he heard that the journey is far away, so he asked the best people in the country to make a set of Jinzhiyuye at three times the price. However, the war minister's lie was soon exposed. Because of this, he was so humiliated that he dared not enter the princess's house again, let alone marry her. General with a bought fur fur fire rat, full of joy to see the bamboo forest princess. Did not expect bamboo princess took the fur and threw it into the fire. It turned out that a real fire rat fur could not withstand fire, but this fur was soon burnt to ashes. The general had nothing to say and left dejected. Minister of Public Works led the fleet to sea looking for five color dragon beads, did not expect to encounter a storm, the sea wind, waves continuously. The minister of Public Works thought: The dragon king must be angry. So, he had to break off the idea of marrying the bamboo princess. Knowing that the other four had failed, the inspector made an even greater effort to monitor the nest. When the swallow was about to lay an egg, he had himself hanged by a rope frame. Just as he was about to take the egg, the rope broke. Not only did the inspector fail to get the shell, but he almost broke a bone. The Zhulin princess did not have to marry, but the Queen Mother called her back to the moon. Originally, bamboo forest princess is a fairy in the sky. Princess Zhu Lin reluctantly took the cloud to leave, the old father-in-law and the old woman very sad. "I'll come back to see you. Goodbye!" In the night sky came the misty voice of the bamboo princess. The old man and the old woman watched Princess Zhulin gradually disappear into the moonlight, and had to bless her sincerely with tears in her eyes.
