Pavel Melnikov’s educational path

Early on, Pavel Melnikov expressed an interest in technology and engineering. As he was born in Saint Petersburg (formerly known as Leningrad), he saw a way to pursue his interests by enrolling in the Electric Equipment For Production Plants And Installations department at the Leningrad Electrotechnical College.

Two years later, he started his studies at the Leningrad Mechanical Institute (today Baltic State Technical University) and specialized in radio-electronic devices.

At the same time, he was working as a computer electrician at LNPO Burevestnik in Leningrad where he started to develop his entrepreneurial spirit.

Becoming an entrepreneur

Pavel Melnikov’s entrepreneurial activities started in the early 90s. From the very beginning, his work was focused on leading enterprises with the goal of developing and stabilizing the work of new companies.

One of his first activities revolved around importing radiators to Russia from Italy. For these purposes, he founded the NovaTerm LLC company in 2009. Soon he realized the peculiarities of the Russian market and saw that the European products needed adjustments to meet the requirements and operating conditions in Russia.

The products created and developed in collaboration with his business partners in Italy belonged to the sanitary products and equipment lines and made for the Russian market. Pavel Melnikov himself was the one who provided complete production specifications for numerous items and as a result of his innovativeness, he is today the proud owner of over 100 patents.

His journey of brand creation did not stop there. Apart from VALTEC which is one of the most recognizable brand in the plumbing engineer and sanitary products market, Pavel Melnikov has several other brands registered under his name in Europe and Asia such as MINKOR, line of sanitary engineering products, BRIXIS - water radiators for heating systems with production in Italy, and TENRAD - water radiators for heating systems with production in China. Moreover, his investments in China started in 2008 and today he is the owner of shares of a Chinese factory that manufactures plumbing equipment under VALTEC brand name.

Since 2010, he has been actively engaged in the management of his trademarks and patents.

Growing his impact

Brands like VALTEC, MINKOR; BRIXIS, and TENRAD are not the only things Pavel Melnikov works on. Like any smart investor, he has diversified his business activity.

In order to secure the world-class quality of all the products manufactured under his trademarks, he has established a laboratory for complex testing of engineering systems elements called LaKIELIS where all the products undergo regular laboratory tests and get their certification.

Also, he is currently the owner of 100% capital of Luch LLC, Energoresurs LLC, BIS No. 1 LLC, and Vesta Regions LLC in the city of Scherbinka, Moscow Region with Vesta Regions being one of the largest plumbing suppliers in Russia.

Finally, he also does business in leasing commercial real estate (commercial and office premises) in Saint Petersburg.
