So, I decided that 2025 will be my “Chuck It in the Fkit Bucket” year—a year to do things that scare me. Here I am at thirty-two years old, single, and childfree, so why not live my life?**

I don’t know if it’s the fact that I have had no self-confidence at all over the past few years—hell, that’s a lie; it’s really been all my life—but you know what? Life is too short, so why not grab it by the horns and do something for me? Below is my list of things I am excited to try—my top five things for my pre-trip itinerary.

1. Watching the Knicks at the Garden

I have loved basketball most of my life. I attended a high school that was primarily based around sports, and I even played basketball for my high school team. My coach put me down quite a bit, but I still loved it. Hey, I’m 5 ft 2 in, but I can still dribble and shoot like anyone else on our team. We even won a few tournaments thanks to me, so… well, you know.

Anyway, back to the Knicks. It’s always been something I've wanted to do—go watch the Knicks at the Garden. So, why not take advantage of being there and catch a game? This is definitely one of the things I will be doing, and I am super excited!

2. 9/11 Memorial Museum

I remember being eight years old when I had just finished a day at primary school, sitting in front of my grandma’s fireplace as the live stream of the horrific events on September 11, 2001, unfolded. Most English people think this took place on the 9th of November 2001, only to realize the date is Americanized and therefore backwards to the way we do it here.

This is a place I want to visit because, even at eight years old, I thought it was one of the most heartbreaking, harrowing things I've ever witnessed, along with many others around the world. I want to visit this place to pay my respects.

3. Visit Where My Great Grandpa and Grandma Used to Live

I am also on a personal family journey. When I arrive in New York, my granddad was half American, and my great grandpa and grandma married and settled in Manhattan. They also moved around due to my grandpa’s job; their backstory is actually really phenomenal.

So, a little family research trip is part of my New York journey, and I will also be going to the local library to do some research. I cannot wait to see what it will uncover.

4. Broadway

The theatre kid in me—oh my lord! Something I have always dreamed of is watching a show on Broadway. I’ve watched a show in the English equivalent, The West End, so why not complete the once-in-a-lifetime theatre circle by watching a show on Broadway?

I can’t wait to watch a show when I arrive; it’s going to be incredible. I can already feel the goosebumps and the atmosphere of the crowd watching the show. I want to be there now to see all the fantastic actors perform.

5. Figaro

Okay, yes, you’ve seen this place mentioned before, and I promise after posting this, it will be the end of my Figaro fan appreciation posts. But I can’t help it! When I believe in a person, or if the person has made such a profound impact on me, I support them 100%.

The food looks incredible, and you can tell the love and dedication that goes into it. The chef works hard and comes up with insane dishes; it all looks amazing, and I can’t wait to try the food. I’ve heard such great things about this place, and my taste buds are ready.

Oh, and the bathroom! The bathroom looks adorable, and of course, when I’m there, I will definitely take the obligatory mirror selfie. Maybe it will transform a 3.5-looking girl like me into a 10!

So, here you have it, guys: my small itinerary for my first solo trip to the Big Apple, NYC. Hope you enjoyed this breakdown! Come back in March when I tell you all about my trip and the amazing experiences I will have.
