Medium Account Suspended: What Should You Do Now And How To Reinstate Your Medium Account?

My Medium account was suspended. I am a very active creator on different writing platforms and on YouTube. Creating content is my passion, especially in the case of Medium and Vocal that are the two best writing platforms. Medium is the platform that I love. Last month, I made over $330 from the Medium partner program and this is why I love Medium. Medium is the platform that I see to have a future. Any platform that gives you access to publish in real-time also has very strict policies regarding the content and the users.

My Medium account has been suspended three times and every time, they have reinstated my account. This last time, I thought it was gone as I did a big mistake. Now coming to the point.

The Two types of suspensions on Medium:

Medium account suspension is of two types;

1. Your Medium account is suspended but they don't send a suspension email: This is an automatic suspension and not from the Medium staff. If your account suspended and you didn't receive any email then this means that there is a high chance that this is done by mistake.
2. Your Medium account is suspended but they send a suspension email: This is worse. Very few people got their account back when they receive a suspension email.

If you receive an email, this means they have manually reviewed your account and decided to suspend it. This happened to me but luckily I know what triggered my Medium account suspension and I have deleted the articles that are violating rules. They reinstated my Medium account after some time.

The Two Most prominent reasons your Medium account is suspended:

The Five (5) things you need to avoid being on Medium:

Follow these five things and You might stay longer on Medium;

1. No hacking or cracking thing. I write articles that were related to hacking and so Medium take this action. Luckily, I have deleted those articles so Medium reinstated my articles.
2. Don't write against anyone or release personal information: Write about things you believed not targeting a person.
3. If you are doing affiliate marketing, disclose it somewhere in your posts. Don't just write articles on Medium for affiliate marketing.
4. Don't write duplicate content. So, if you have already written about Substack and now in the new articles, you are writing about "How to create a Substack publication" and copy some content from your later published articles then this is called duplicate content and Medium might suspend your account.
5. Don't do automation of any kind.
