Samsung sell product to ordinary people, but they also sell to businesses meaning that they are arguably in two different markets. The product the sell are smart phones to ordinary people, but they also sells semiconductor to other smart phones manufacturers one of those manufacturers is apple. They buy semiconductors from Samsung this means that Samsung is at the same time their competitor and their supplier they rely on.
So for apple, the product they buy to sell a product are semiconductor which are product they buy in order to sell another product which are their smart phones the semiconductor supply is an entire market on itself. As there are multiple of semiconductor companies like intel, QUALCOMM, Texas instrument, micron, Broadcom and tens of more. This companies only supply semiconductors, and they will have a multitude of other product using their product.
Ranging from space vehicles, car computers, smartphones, medical equipment, appliances and more this means that their clients will not only be from one market but form a multitude of diverse markets like the automobile market, the computer market etc.
A service to sell a product
The logistic sector:
This generally applies to large businesses that operate globally meaning that they sell product internationally. In order to sell their product in many different location they will have to ship the products in various ways. And this is a service that they also rely on to distribute their product around. And this service is also provided by another market there are more than thirty shipping companies.
This might not only be container shipping but also other delivery companies including ups etc. So let's say an ecommerce company that sells furniture receive an order from someone in another country. In order to sell that product to their client that is to have the client pay for it and receiving it later they have to pay for the shipping cost, and this is the service they are paying for to sell a product.
This ecommerce company might have the product been delivered by a global shipping company lets tale UPS in this case once they company have the order; they will pay the logistic company a fee in order for them to deliver the product to the intended client.
A product to sell a service
the fitness sector:
An examples of this will be a gym. the service they will sell will typically be a monthly subscription to a local gym. In this particular case, the product that the gym will be offering will be the exercising equipment which their client will use. this equipment's will be delivered to the gym by companies such as life fitness and paramount. since they provide those product hence they represent a different market and they our hypothetical gym represents the client of such market
A service to sell a service
The IT sector:
If an individual wants to start a masterclass in a specific field they are an expert in and teach their skills to others at a cost either as a onetime pay or as a subscription, they will need to attract as much people as possible and for this they will need to build a website. Where they could provide their masterclass to people that are interested in learning about their skills this could be skills in many domain like music, art, cookery, sport or any type of science and expert in any of this field will be willing to share their knowledge to other people willing to learn those specific things so they will make a masterclass where those people will be to attend.
And this will be the service they will be offering. As previously mentioned, thy will need a website to sell this service. And there are service offered to build and maintain a website and even further develop it. Those will be companies like Wix. They offer the service of building and maintaining a website at a monthly plan with different varieties of plans.
And this will be the service they will be offering which the expert wanting to provide a masterclass will be paying thus been the cost he will pay for the service he need which is having a website to provide the service he or she want which is teaching their skills online. Companies like Wix and square space are software developer so they will be classified in the IT sector for that reason which mean that there market the expert will rely on will be the IT sector.
