Leaving corporate America update

the step 2 of the plan

By Lena BaileyPublished 6 years ago 3 min read

If you read my last post about leaving or quitting corporate America. I had a plan and some options and I may have not stated all of that in my last post. So it was part of my back plan or maybe even part 2 of plan A to get a job that will hopefully give me more hours until I can make something else work. I did find a job and worked a multiple day work week for the first week then I got less the next week. I figured that would happened since they hired more people then needed to weed out the weak links or the unreliable people. I wasn't totally mad because I had the 1st job to kind of be the back up and I figured the universe, God or whatever you believe in would provide. Also this week I'm taking a 3 day vacation so I also figured me asking off had something with my drop in hours. I just wasn't expecting as severe of a drop as I got.

So the modified plan is to work these 2 jobs as long as I can or until one of them proves that they are worth keeping. There is also a chance that I will get fired from one job or both. There's also the chance of me getting fired after I quit one of them. There's no promise in this universe even if you believe that it will provide.

If I quit one and the other one works out I will work that job until the time comes when I become unhappy, if that days comes. When or if that day comes I will make sure to have a back up to replace the job I keep. I don't care if the back up plan is writing, doing odd side hustles or another actual job. I will keep getting jobs until I can make enough doing side hustle type or writing for regular job pay or close to it.

If I do quit from one job and get fired from the other job I will do this writing thing until I find a new job or this writing thing provides for me. If I get fired from both jobs the same plan is in place. I know with one job or I guess with a lot of jobs it's very hard to get fired from. I do believe that the original job I had before the new one I got maybe forcing me out. I can kind of tell from what they are doing that they don't want me there any more, why they just don't fire me I don't know.

I also thought about saving up as much as possible and quit once I'm at the point where I can make more with writing. In this situation I would live off the savings and the money I make with writing.

Unfortunately with this virus going around the hours are not that great in the customer service industry. So I want to make this plan of quitting the corporate america work more than ever. I know that this situation won't last forever but we don't know if there will be another situation that will have the same impact on jobs.

So you guys can help by tipping, sharing and reading my stuff. I hope this made sense and updated you enough about my plan. I also hope this inspired a few people who were thinking about quitting corporate America. Maybe this will help some people get an idea of how to do it.
