The atmosphere and food are incredible, and I'm lucky enough to get somegt presents from them every year (like when I got my Kindle!). As someone who loves reading, books were always at the top of my wish list- and they're probably something I ask for every year now. Every year it seems like our family goes through A LOT of wrapping paper too- but it's worth it because we all end up having an amazing time together! As much as we love getting gifts from each other though, there are also times when we all buy presents for one another that are much more personal- like cooking or making something special or writing cards. It's these little things that mean so much to me because it shows that someone actae time out of their day to make me happy, which is what the holidays are all about after all. Even just going out and spending a few hours in town buying gifts can show how thoughtful people are, especially when they do it right after work or on their days off. It makes those holiday dinners even better because I know how happy everyone else around me is too. Sometimes it feels like people don't care anymore though, or just see the occasion as just another day. The goals I did not achieve
Every writing goal I made for the year is a wash. It has been this way for a while, but I think it's important to be open about my failures and the reality of how life can get in the way. This is especially true considering the several times I have posted on Vocal about my writing goals, how I was changing my approach, and where I was hoping to be for the upcoming year. I will probably do that again in a couple months, but for now, it is time to acknowledge where I am today.
