Journaling back to myself

Journaling my way back to myself
Journaling is truly a form of meditation in its own way. It’s literally prayer, taking place on paper. Right there . Journaling allows me to unpack my thoughts and self realizations.
Its when my heart and mind are truly in deep conversation. Breaking down my walls with words. Just the raw version of who I am, the good and the bad. It’s therapeutic.
Writing is having dialogue with myself.
Writing encourages internal movement. Mind, body and soul. Experiencing creative block? There is a quick and easy remedy for that. Maybe not easy but it works. Scribble out a few sentences about what you’re feeling at that given moment, maybe even a daily gratitude list, of everything you’re grateful for, what you love, and where you want to go. Writing allows me to explore my mind and truly examine my desires. Writing also allows me to really sit and dissect my fears and assess my goals. Words give feelings and desires a name. Writing for me , whether it’s on Vocal or in my Journal treats my mind like a muscle. It demands me to build something new, strong, and essential by stretching my thoughts. It allows me know myself better.
Journaling is sacred.
When journaling is a daily task, deep reflection becomes almost second nature. Your critical thinking skills improve and you’re better able to understand new concepts . Sitting down with your thoughts every night and scribbling out a few good sentences allows negativity to exit your body and peace and clarity to enter. Your brain is then in motion.
Keeping a journal is sacred practice by design. The reason I believe that is because it helps lead you to a more defined, brighter place. It helps you find your way back to yourself. So, great. You get it: Journaling is good for you — physically, mentally, and emotionally. The cool part is thst there is no right way !, just dump your thoughts on paper and let it flow.
Every moment offers you an opportunity to be intentional.
Coming across Vocal Media in 2020 was by far one of best findings for my mental health.
The truth is, I kept seeing various advertisements talking about Vocal Creators and Vocal Challenges. The chance to win prizes of Money ! That day my curiosity lead me to really see what it was about and sign up ! Ironically, there was a particular challenge taking place called , 2020 Anthem | Asking to share the song that perfectly sums up my year so far. (At that time)
The Prizes were divided into 3 categories.
Grand prize:
$1,000
Second place:
$500
Third place:
$250
The winners who’s submission were chosen , were well written. I myself even tipped all three! That’s really what this phenomenal platform is about, it’s coming together and supporting one another. I strongly believe every person, experience, or message we come across was planted perfectly in our life just as we needed it.
Although my particular submission may not have won the challenge , its a reminder to myself that Curiosity will always open doors, and lead down new and exciting paths full of adventure and learning. It also allows me to share my experience with others, and point of views.
The human brain was built for Reading more books.
Reading changes everything. Did I say everything? Yes. Reading good literature. The way you think, the way you speak, the way you approach life. Reading can feel like a kind of meditation in its own way. As you read, there is a voice that is reading it. Any inner voice , and your imagination of the character. Buying a random magazine on a topic you normally wouldn’t read about can feed your curiosity and teach you something new. As I’ve gotten older, however, my interest in reading has grown. I credit my lingering love of language and a genuine desire to both learn more and watch less television. But I still don’t feel as if it comes naturally to me. I buy books—ones recommended by friends, and others I find myself.
The power to questions is the basis of all human progress. -Indira Gandhi
According to artist and composer John Cage,
“if something is boring after two minutes, try it for four. If still boring, then eight. Then sixteen. Then thirty-two. Eventually one discovers that it is not boring at all.”
When you set the rest of the world aside and truly allow yourself to become totally lost in a book, your brain is given the chance to both rest and grow at the same time. How cool is that ?! . So not only does writing bring me so does reading. Whether it’s a good novel or my fellow Vocal Creaters blogs, I absolutely love checking out the top stories hand picked and showing some love.
