I Started Writing Without Knowing How-To
And that was the best decision I could’ve made

My journey began in mid-December 2021.
I’ve always wanted to write my thoughts online hoping to connect with people to provide my services and my knowledge and leave a different perspective to the reader.
And yeah, the reality is that I didn’t have any idea on how to start or even what to write.
“What if nobody is interested in my stories?” — I asked myself.
Then I decided to take the shot and I started writing self-help articles, which is a topic that I genuinely enjoy talking about.
No concrete format. No planning. It was just me typing my thoughts on the keyboard.
One month later, I have almost 200 followers, 20+ articles, and the same passion I had at the beginning to continue in this path which is writing my perspectives of the world and sharing them with the community.
So after 30+ days, this is what I’ve learned.
Begin, then learn
That was the mindset that I had installed when I first started writing.
It’s funny to me that whenever I go to read my first-ever stories I come out with a reaction like this: "I can’t understand the message that I was trying to give!"
But oh well, those stories are left like old-good memories now.
And what that says to me, is that my writing skills have naturally grown over the passing of the days. Through the practice, I was able to write better and make my article’s objective more clear.
Indeed, I learned how to write after I started writing.
A lot of people tend to prepare too much before taking action. I don’t. I believe that one truly learns how to do things when one gets to actually do those things. It’s a lifestyle that has helped through a lot of difficult situations and, yeah it’s kind of difficult at the beginning, but you know what they say, the practice makes the master.
Write for yourself
If you are consciously writing just because you want to, you become fully responsible for the success of your article.
You won’t be affected by the external accomplishments to determine the quality of what you have just written.
If you think your story is good, then it’s good. If you didn’t like it, then it’s not good.
You develop freedom over how and when to write because the only person you are trying to please is the person that you see when you look in a mirror.
And the biggest treasure of all, you get to be fully authentic. Just yourself and nobody else.
To close…
I want to tell you something.
I know you got in mind that one thing. Something that when you think about it raises your heartbeat. Something that doesn’t let you sleep at night. Something that you truly are aware of that will make you feel better.
That is something I encourage you to do, even though you don’t know how to.
Do it, maybe at the beginning sucks, but everything in this life is worth it at the end.
Eventually, you'll make the best decision for yourself, and you know what it is? The one that your heart believes is true. Listen to it.
I hope you learned something new today or just helped you to see a different perspective on life.
